Miami has to get out. Idk how it happens, but this program is not respectable enough to get the benefit of the doubt. That 3rd down sequence of a hold & pick up the flag on the PI down the field was atrocious. The fumble by 7 to begin the half..and on Carson pick ..the call on lightfoot on a ******* 4th & 9 TO sequence.. & go look at what happened to Jojo in the back of the end zone right in from of the ref..not to mention the non calls in the Flow of the game. It was Bad today. Idk what Mario etc can do behind the scenes but something needs to happen

Those calls today changed the game. The PI on Toney took a chunk play. The PI not called but the bs holding in forced. On that beck pick in OT..go look at what happened to #1 on that play befor the ball was even thrown.,this game was lost on calls. Miami needs to get out of the ACC
 
Bumped because clearly Miami needs to do whatever it can to get out of this Joke of a conference. This **** bad for the brand. They’re sending a 7-5 duke who lost to GT..got dominated by UVA a few weeks ago..all because opponents W/L percentage. leaving your highest ranked playoff contender out & risking the conference not having a Playoff Rep at all. It’s a joke conference.

They lost to UConn..in football lol. U Right about non con not all being equal..that said, common sense thing would be to take your highest ranked CFP team. If you’re gonna have these bloated conferences with no divisions that’s the only way to avoid a 7-5 representative & possibly assuring no team goes to the playoffs.
 
We are in the most incompetent run conference with people who lack foresight for situations like this. Because the ACC has this weird tie breaker scenario that took effect - your two best teams in GT and Miami arent in the title game and really you will now likely not have any presence in the CFP this year.

I know this was before the CFP run and after what was one of the most frustrating games I’ve ever watched, and a time most of us thought our season was over so I understand why you’d make this statement at this time. I agree with the OP a year ago and I agree with him now. That was about the worst officiating job I’ve seen as a football fan. Ever. Completely pathetic on the ACC’s part.

As far us playing in the SEC/BIG, we seem to matchup far better against programs in those leagues although there aren’t enough examples for the BIG since we never play their teams and there will be less opportunities as the BIG/SEC and the other 2 leagues reduce OOC matchups. But what we do know is this:

Miami went 3-0 against the biggest baddest of the big bads in 2025. We pushed every single SEC Simp around. We even made Florida look like FAMU in 2024. Keep in mind that UF team was their best team they’ve had since they canned Mullen. We handed them their worst home opening loss in school history. Tim Tebow couldn’t even pump up a team with decent talent enough to compete with us that day. It was an absolute laugher at 41-14. If we wanted to, we could have made it 66-14. Their 2 TD’s came on a busted TD run where our LB’s effed up royally and the 2nd was a garbage time score. About a year later, another *** kicking. 2025 UF had a measly 30 yards of total offense against us in the first half. 6 days later they’re lighting up the scoreboard against Texas. The SEC is about as good as the ACC right now. The results on the field prove it. The talking heads at ESPN still refuse to admit it but the writing is clearly on the wall. They are not even close to what they once were.

TEMU couldn’t beat us in 2023 and they couldn’t beat us in the CFP even with their 100k screaming fans. Couldn’t even get a TD. While we only won 10-3, there were opportunities for us to widen that margin but missed them. That Mali punt return should have been a TD but he got shoelace tackled inside the TEMU 20. And all those missed FG’s. TEMU’s OL got absolutely dominated by our DL after talking **** the week prior. Hilarious. TEMU was probably the 2nd best team in the biggest baddest SEC big bad boy conference if you think about it. One loss to Texas on the road where they already secured a CFP spot. How bad do you think those guys really wanted to win that game and play Georgia before CFP play when they already secured a CFP game at home? That, and Texas desperately needing to win to make a BS argument for CFP participation, the loss is insignificant.

Then there’s Ole Miss. Another SEC Simp we should have beaten worse. What was the difference in TOP and plays run for each team? It was insanely lopsided as we controlled the game, just couldn’t score. Trinidad was shut down for 80% of the game. We probably played our worst game in the CFP that day and still beat those clowns.

Take a look around and you’ll see the SEC is as fraudulent as can be. Missouri being ranked the entire season despite never winning a game against an opponent .500 or above. Big bad Texas getting in dogfights with 4-5 win teams in Kentucky and Mississippi State. Georgia Tech hanging with Georgia back-to-back years. That’s no longer a gimmie for Kirby. Clemson easily taking care of business against South Carolina. Louisville beating Kentucky 41-0. Oh, and the one ESPN wanted to forget most, the absolute thrashing 5-7 FSU game Alabama in their opener. It’s not just Miami who’s beating the biggest baddest programs the world has ever seen. It’s a lot of them.

We’d do just fine in the SEC but I don’t think we’ll be playing there barring some crazy realignment mayhem. It’s BIG or the ACC leftovers decide to cut some type of deal with the Big 12 and we settle with 3 power conferences because I don’t see a world where we only have 2. It’ll be like 2.5. The Big 12 isn’t just going to be demoted to G6 or G7 regardless of when or how the ACC implodes. Conferences become G league when they implode, and the Big 12 has actually done a fantastic job preventing this from happening.
