ACC ....

While it may not be an organized "conspiracy", there is no doubt that UM does NOT get the benefit of calls in their games. We went the past couple of seasons with one of the most aggressive pass rushes, yet the number of offensive holding calls against our opponents was not even half of what is seen in an average game. We would continually have players with their jerseys pulled right off their shoulder pads, right in front of refs, and no call made. Even commentators on the broadcasts have pointed out the lack of calls at times. Meanwhile, we've had numerous long plays, runs by Walton, Yearby, Harris, that were potential game-changer plays, called back for "holds" that again, even the announcers often questioned. ****, look at that bowl game two years ago against Wisconsin. Cager's pants practically being pulled down as he tries to run his route, and no PI call, plus the defender then intercepted the ball...and that was in the end zone! That same game, Wisconsin's go ahead TD was made possible by a BLATANT holding with a ref right next to it, where the DE's jersey was almost ripped off....no call.

If it happens on occasion, yes that's normal. But there is a pattern there that is undeniable.
When "sht happens" and it's always in the same direction, it isn't random, it's bias.

Could we please leave the Atlantic Coast Conference...

I'm on board now!

Seriously this a problem...

Enough is enough!

Too many times...

I Just Leave This Right Here.......

P.S. Can't forget the horse collar on DJ that wasn't call right in the zebras face!

I don't like *****ing about the refs. It doesn't change anything and just makes a fan base sound whiny. As Jimmy Johnson said "if you put the game in the hands of the officials, you've lost". We have to play well enough to win, even when the penalties are 1 for 5 yards on the opponent and 15 for 200 on us. You beat the other team bad enough, the refs can't fix it.

That said, I completely agree with you and am sick and tired of the ACC constantly tilting the field against us in every possible way that they can. The officiating on Saturday night was atrocious and was absolutely enough to have changed the outcome of a close game that we should have won.

I don't like the ACC (well, I actually do as far as the schools in general, but the conference leadership not so much), the ACC doesn't like us, and it's about **** time our AD started calling the conference out, but we all know he's too ineffectual to even negotiate a reasonable deal with a team from the Sunbelt Conference. He's way out of his league in his current job.

Respect bro! Most definitely... I can appreciate this. I just want CANES fans to continue to keep our eyes on things like this. That's all. Don't turn the other cheek sort of speak just because its common. Sad to say! Although we left points on the board and we didn't maximize our Winning % due to blown assignments.

Clearly we need to handle this **** like the Colombians handle their biased soccer refs. If someone were to find & post personal information about the ACC's football refs (addresses, phone numbers), it would go a long way towards rectifying the problem with or without associated death threats and/or executions.

I joke.

Exactly. Especially the SEC. Cheating for certain teams has always been ideologically/culturally based. The conservative traditionalist southern hick element absolutely despises Miami. PAC12 might be slightly better than ACC, but not much. Given our location, this is the best conference possible.

Nothing about playing lame-*** Virginia, Duke, and North Carolina every year make the ACC the "best conference possible."

It's BORING. Our games are BORING. It hurts our brand, our recruiting, and it makes for a bad fan experience.

TBH I was thinking Independent or Big 12 Conference My Cane Brothers.
Why not ask how it is going for UCONN and UMASS. Both are now, or will shortly be independents. UMASS plays three SEC teams a year because they will travel and be a sacrificial lamb. And basketball and baseball are DOA after leaving ACC.

When and if we ever get back to playing Miami caliber of football won't matter what acc refs do.see Texas 91 cotton bowl.if it still happens when chance provides itself let a player accidentally take out a ref or two.maybe they'll wise up and get the hint.
HUGE difference, my friend. The Cotton Bowl calls were 100% legit. The ones we are getting now, and the calls they miss, are 100% bogus, and EXTREMELY well timed to hurt us, and help them. We run a perfect play now, and it's called back. Had the refs done that all day at the Cotton Bowl, we don't win by 40+.

This. We will never be back because to do that you have to start by squeaking out close games to build momentum!

If we’re going to leave the ACC, the only other thing we can do is go Independent like the good old days.

With Cali’s ruling that may become an option especially if other states follow their lead. Would completely destroy the NCAA and the SEC’s bagmen. But knowing them they’d turn into advisors or agents for the players.

The truth is that no matter what conference we're in, we'll probably continue to get jobbed by the refs. Your typical NCAA ref hates everything Miami represents, from the turnover chain to the way we played the game in the 80's. They'll do what they can to keep "those Miami thugs" down, and they'll do it successfully until we start dominating games again & leaving no doubt...or until one of their bullshìt calls costs the wrong person enough money and they decide to "make an example" of that ref. It's happened before and it'll happen again.
