ACC Scheduling Model

That's fine for his conference where the vast majority of the players have no possibility to go to the pros. For conferences like the ACC, SEC, etc., there's no way to make that work and keep the current teams intact. As has been discussed multiple hundreds of times on this board, our team alone would likely lose Rousseau, Roche, King just to name the first 3 that I can think of. I don't think any of the P5 commissioners want to go down that road unless they are absolutely forced to.

College football “leaders“ continue to fail. It annoys me they keep making it easy for ND. A couple years ago when they made the CFP, the committee had a chance to send a message. “We left ND out on purpose because they don’t play in a conference.” That should’ve been the move. Now the ACC, which has ALL THE LEVERAGE, is willing to include them? Cmon man have some self respect. They can figure their own schedule. You can’t have all the pros of not being in a conference and then also dodge the cons. This isn’t even about rivalry with them. This is simply what’s right.

Who are we likely to play out of conference for our plus 1 game?

If ND doesn’t count as out of conference, we should try to add an SEC with an in state rivalry. I’d like to something for ACC like this:

Syracuse - Texas Tech
Pitt - WVU
BC - Baylor
VPI - Tennessee
UVA - TCU
Louisville - Kentucky
Notre Dame - Missouri
UNC - Auburn
NC State - Mississippi State
Duke - TCU
Wake Forest - Vanderbilt
Clemson - USCe
GT - UGA
FSU - Florida
Miami - Ole Miss

Guys, calm down on the ND talk. This is the concession the ACC is granting in return for ND joining the ACC as a football member. That part will come out later as they are going to let ND control the timing of that announcement, but expect that announcement to happen near the end of the season.

So we have to respect the decision and not ask for interviews?

Is there a chance we schedule a G5 team as our +1? Just saw Iowa State and Ball State agreed to play.

I think you misunderstood the AAC Commissioner response.

Won't happen, but I would like to keep the 12-game schedule with 2 non-conference opponents. One of the two would be a HBCU, as has been the tradition for years. Playing UM is the big payday for the likes of Florida A&M and Bethune Cookman. I hate seeing them lose it this year. The other non-conference opponent could be ND, a SEC team, or any other team from a top conference.

We'll restart it at the days its pushed back. Like a dancehall dj yelling "pull up "!!!
We might have to find something else to fill that gap though. I'm not sure about doing the jersey numbers again. We'll see.
