ACC Scheduling Model

hot as **** that day. Pretty sure it was a noon game and Sean Taylor fumbled a crucial punt in the 4q
yup, I was there. Taylor muffed a punt with just under 2mins left. Same thing Jeff Thomas did and everyone kills the kid but the greatest of all time did the same thing

So the ACC has a once-in-a-lifetime chance to force Notre Dame to play by its rules and demand it joins the conference permanently, but instead will bend over backwards and do whatever it can to accommodate the Irish.

Gee, I am going to file this away under "**** that Doesn't Surprise Me Whatsoever: Volume 73".

Guys, calm down on the ND talk. This is the concession the ACC is granting in return for ND joining the ACC as a football member. That part will come out later as they are going to let ND control the timing of that announcement, but expect that announcement to happen near the end of the season.

First and foremost, giving ND the ability to play for the ACC Championship is a non-starter. The ACC should just not allow it - have some self-respect.

It's fairly obvious that ND came to the ACC when the Big 10 and Pac 12 announced they were playing conference only schedules. I'm sure ND was afraid the AAC (Navy), MAC (Western Michigan), SEC (Arkansas), and even the ACC might do the same thing. The fact is ND still has 9 teams on their schedule currently. By forming an agreement with the ACC, they can ensure they will play a full season even if these other conferences decide to go "conference only" in the next few weeks.

The snag comes in that 3 of the ACC's 4 teams that have out of conference SEC rival games play ND this year (Louisville, GT, and Clemson). So those 3 ACC schools would like to play 2 OOC games (SEC rival and ND). To me, the ACC should go with an 8 + 2 model. Negotiate with ND to add 1, 2, 3, or 4 ACC teams to their schedule for this year - whichever number they like. Just treat them as OOC games. This gives ND the ability to guarantee themselves a full schedule and the flexibility to keep Navy and/or Arkansas on their schedule if they so choose. At the same time, it allows the ACC to not cheapen its conference membership by allowing ND to play for a title for one season only.

This would still be an excellent example of goodwill the ACC could use to hopefully get ND to sign on as a full-time conference member while still not giving the ACC the indignity of letting ND use the conference for a championship for one year. It would be the equivalent of the walk of shame for a girl after a one night stand.

I know people bash them on here a lot, but the SEC would never allow the ACC set up with ND.

I would love to see the UGA beat down of UVA. Has UVA found a way out yet to save face?

Well, yeah, when you post stupid ****, expect to have to explain it. The SEC has nothing to do with Notre Dame.

Look Timmy. The ACC is currently in this ridiculous agreement with ND because the conference is basketball first, and everything else second. Also, it’s run by a bunch of morons who have no backbone to tell ND to either be a full member or to ****off. They allowed ND to find a home for all their other sports, but then ND turned around and refused to let the idiots in the ACC dictate how they run their football team. Furthermore, the ACC was even dumb enough to allow ND a guaranteed number of games each year that now allows ND more leverage in their own scheduling. They don’t have to create 13 games a year on their own because the ACC gives them half. They literally bent over and grabbed their toes while ND pumped away

In closing Timmy, a football conference such as the SEC, one in which we all wish Miami was in, except for the academic geeks, would have never allowed ND to dictate terms in the manner in which they did to the ACC.

To be transparent, I absolutely hate the ACC and will attempt to bury them whenever I can.

If the ACC is even considering giving ND a chance to play in the ACC title game or to take one of our bowls, then Swofford should be drawn and quartered. That would be the absolute bottom of the barrel move.
they are already in our bowl pool. without them the ACC would look even less attractive.

Jeff Thomas shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same sentence with Sean Taylor. The two aren’t even in the same hemisphere
Obviously, point is even are greatest players made mistakes. Every player doesn't make every play. Case in point, the idiots that **** on a player like Shaq Quaterman

not surprising but uh so disappointing that the ACC is this greedy to make whatever money they can now due to the loss of all that ncaa basketball tourney $

I’ll believe that when I see it. They aren’t giving up that NBC deal.

ND would never settle for being part of the Academic “Sludge” of the SEC; SEC might be ignorant enough to believe they would though.
