ACC revenues have doubled in the last 5 years.

Why am I not shocked that our "Fans" continue to believe dumbass narratives about revenue? Oh that's right, it's because we have dumbass fans that have little to no understanding of how collegiate athletics work. No University official gets to run off with athletic revenues. What the athletic department raises and earns, it gets to keep. Unfortunately, what happened with Miami in the early part of the millennium was that as the facility/resources arms race kicked off, the people who hold the actual power(The Board of Trustees) didn't see the need to fight that battle. Miami has always been at an economic disadvantage, and won anyway, so why do anything when there's more pressing needs? Unfortunately, the facilities arms race was here to stay, and Miami was late to the party. While a lot of that has been rectified, people forget that there is still a sizable gap between the schools that we are supposed to be competing against, and schools like Miami. Let's look at the revenues of the teams in the CFP last year, stats were provided by the US Department of Education.

Alabama--111,000,000
Notre Dame--107,400,000
Oklahoma--102,300,000
Clemson*--52,000,000

Miami--57,100,000

*Clemson's revenue numbers are all over the map. In most studies I've seen Clemson is well within the top 25 revenue wise, in some cases in the top 15. I went with the US DOE numbers, which are lower estimates.

Compare that to Miami, who remains the only school since 2000 that has won a national championship despite being ranked outside the top 30 in overall revenue. Think that over. Look at those numbers. Out of the 4 schools that were standing at the end, only Clemson was even remotely close to Miami in regards to revenue(and we can argue that Clemson is doing something with their numbers, no one else's numbers vary as much), in most cases Miami is being outspent almost two to one.

Duuuude.. ... stop making too much sense....its frowned upon.

Is this athletic department revenue or just football?

The bottom line is the athletic department was not re reinvesting the football profits back into the program. You can pin that on whoever you want but since the change in university president, the football program can afford to hire coaches and upgrade their facilities tremendously. Maybe it's just a total coincidence thoughm

The expected additional revenue from the ACC network will propel the ACC past the pac12 and big 12 in revenue share.

What the **** do you mean by reinvesting into the football program? You can't invest everything into football, and leave the other sports to rot. Not only will that put you in noncompliance with Title IX, it's also something the conference would have a problem with. That's what you business illiterate morons don't understand. That, and the fact that University Presidents aren't micromanaging the athletic department. If you think that Frenk does anything outside of make appearances on behalf of the athletic department, then you don't know anything. It's amazing how the typical Miami "Fan", a person who most likely couldn't find Richter with a GPS has a beef with the University Administration, because they aren't prostituting the school for athletic success.

The reason WHY Miami was able to upgrade the facilities and up salaries was because the revenue pie became bigger. Period. The Adidas deal, and the increase in ACC rights fees made it possible for Miami to spend money. Even then, Miami still had to FIGHT to get things like the IPF done. Miami had to CROWDFUND to get a 30+ million dollar project done. Schools like Alabama aren't crowdfunding to get the basics, but those are the schools our "Fanbase" want to compete with. The numbers I posted show that. Miami isn't even in the top 30 nationally in regards to revenue. In a lot of cases, Miami is being outspent almost 2 to 1. That's not even including the money that doesn't show up on the balance sheet.

Oh good so more money for the nursing program amirite?

Hey look everyone, another uninformed idiot. The nursing program pulls in more money from research/earmarked donations than the entire athletic department clears. I'll never understand how a group of people can be so wrong about something that is this incredibly simple.
