Yes I know there’s a million threads about the tiebreaker situation but I think the actual idiotic system itself needs its own bashing thread because my God, what a moronic predicament the ACC put itself in with these tiebreaker rules. Honestly, I don’t even understand them because it’s so confusing, but the fact we can somehow lose a tiebreaker situation to Duke tells you all you need to know about its stupidity. How about this for your 5 team tiebreaker scenario:

- Highest ranked team gets the nod or best overall record.

There you go. The most simple, logical way to break a potential 5 team tie. Someone get Jim Phillips on the line.

I mean it’s how tiebreakers work in almost every conference. It’s a math problem when theres 3 or more tied.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they had highest ranking in the multiple tiebreakers for division winners. So stupid they got rid of that when they got rid of divisions. Ridiculous that a 6-5 Duke has a chance at playing in the ACC Championship game.

The real stupidity was eliminated the divisions. This was never a problem before, but like everything, these smart ppl get together and try to figure out how to make things more difficult.

A pet peeve of mine is when stupid people think too much. In real life, I use this line frequently "just stop thinking and listen".

This is how all CFB executives make me feel.

They caught wind the SEC was going to do it. Probably wanted to be "innnovators". ****ass ACC

Expanding to an uneven number of teams was smart too

Unfortunately, assumed until today that’s what it was.

Might be. Lol

Go back to divisions. Get rid of OOC games and go with a 4 game playoff

And end the agreement with ND. It’s clear both Pitt and Syracuse mailed their games in. Why give ND, a non conference team free P4 wins every year.

Edited to add: if I’m Miami, schedule a FCS team in November as a 3rd bye.

I would have more hair if stupid people would just sit down and enjoy the ride sometimes.
