ACC Championship Game

In a vacuum, having at a neutral site makes sense. It's a championship game which shouldn't allow for home field advantage. The problem is the winner may have to go and play at two more neutral sites if they're going to the playoff.

If the playoff system had conference tie ins and the first round was the conference championship games you could make it be home field. If you had a 10 team playoff you could do...

Round 1: Conference championships to play for 1st round bye. Played at home field of team with better conference record. Create 6 conferences with locks. Force all conferences to eliminate divisions. Conference winners are placed 1-6 based on rankings.
Round 2: A committee picks 4 additional teams to fill out top 10. These 4 play in round 2 with home field advantage.
Round 3: Remaining 8 teams play a standard playoff format, with home field advantage
Round 4: Remaining four teams play at neutral sites
Round 5: Championship game

Rankings would still matter throughout the season because you'd want to make sure you were in the top 4 spots to guarantee home field in your first game. This way the conference championship game doesn't feel disjointed from the rest of the playoff run, it becomes a part of it and matters.

Tampa would be a great site for the game and visitors. City experienced at hosting Super Bowls and BCS Championship, Clemson beat baga. Close to beaches they can enjoy in December. For kids and young adults there is Busch Gardens and Orlando an hour away. Lots of restaurants and entrtainment options. World Class Airport. Charlotte can't ***** with Tampa when it comes to hosting National/International events.

Now you're going too far...

You are forgetting an important selling point of the RayJay in Tampa, all the great clubs along North Dale Mabry (and one for NYSOM to the east):

If we give the ACC-CG to the top regular season team to host, then that will effectively move the game to Hard Rock every year...

Thinking outside of the box here, especially since it is a little out of ACC's geography, but how about the Superdome in New Orleans?

You're also describing BOA Stadium.
Have to disagree there. On the idea that Charlotte sucks and I'd like it moved, yes. Mostly due to weather and nothing to do when compared to somewhere like Tampa.

But the BOA stadium is perfect for watching football, you're close to the field and there isn't a bad seat in the house.

Like it or not, Charlotte has been perfect for the ACCCG.. Yes, one game in the last decade was cold...brrrr football game in the mid 40s.. once
- Charlotte is a short drive for half the conference, not just the NC schools but also Clemson, GT, VT, UVA, Louisville
- Its a modern city with a hub airport
- People dont take family vacations the first week of December. They just had Thanksgiving and have Christmas and NYE on the horizon, oh and a bowl game.
- And they did try Florida a couple times
