ACC Championship Game Path

Agree, and then the bigger question is......

How the **** did Miami lose to SMU again?

Best scenario as of today:
Mia - beat vt & pitt - 6-2
GT - lose to pitt & uga 6-2, drop in polls
PITT - beat gt, lose to Mia 5-3
UVA - lose to vt (unlikely)- 6-2
SMU - lose to lou & cal (unlikely) - 5-3
DUKE - lose to either unc or wf - 5-3 at worst

If UVA beats VT, they're in the ACCCG. If SMU only loses 1 of 2, they finish 6-2 with the tie breaker over us.
We don’t need SMU to lose both since if there are a bunch of 6-2 teams head to head likely won’t matter. Quick run through of some scenarios, we really need Pitt to beat GT and Duke and SMU to lose one more.

Miami reaches ACC Championship Game if ...

  1. Beats Virginia Tech and Pitt
  2. Virginia beats Virginia Tech
  3. Pitt beats Georgia Tech, Duke beats North Carolina, SMU beats Louisville
  4. Cal beats SMU, Wake Forest beats Duke
In this scenario, Virginia (7-1 in ACC) and Miami (6-2) go to Charlotte with four-way tiebreaker advantages over Georgia Tech/Pitt/SMU.

this seems very doable, but also these things often don’t go our way so I’m skeptical

Simply put
1. We win out
2. GT needs to lose to Pitt next week
3. Duke needs to lose one more -- UNC and WF left
4. SMU needs to lose one more -- think they HAVE to lose to Louisville. Unlikely they lose to Cal anyway.

ACC CG: UVA vs MIA
Could see SMU losing to Cal too with it being at Cal
