ACC Championship Game OUT Of Charlotte

OTown so I can watch the canes in a championship. Field and stadium has been upgraded.

Orlando is the best bet in my opinion. Orlando is a good city for this event. Citrus Bowl has been upgraded and provides a good atmosphere. Hope to see you all there in December.

It failed terribly in Jacksonville and Tampa, I don't see it going back there.

To be fair (and it's partially due to our mediocrity), a lot of those games weren't exactly enthralling matchups. BC vs VT & VT vs FSU multiple times isn't exactly running a tingle up one's leg.

MOVE IT TO BOONE

Haha. Have you heard how picturesque the 3 hr drive from the closest airport to there is? It really sounds like this little slice of heaven that nobody knows about.

One day we're going to find out that the Boone Board of Tourism/Trailer Park Permitting gave out $5 vouchers to Hardee's for anyone willing to flood the interwebs with pro-Boone propaganda. Wait until those big city folks in that paradise called Asheville find out that someone is biting their strategy.

But that's the problem with having the game in a non-centralized location like Florida. People are willing to go to weaker games if they can leave early that day and get back late that night. But when you locate the game away from much of the ACC, now you're talking flights or huge gas bills, having to take time off of work, having to get a hotel, etc. People just aren't going to make that kind of trek for a crappy game. A location like Orlando or Tampa requires a great matchup to make the game worth it for the commute. Charlotte doesn't.

Should be in Jacksonville every year. ***** Orlando and definitely no to Charlotte in the fist place.

The ACCCG needs the marquee teams: Miami, FSU, Clemson, and maybe UNC and VT.

I'd be curious how attendance conference championship games fares in general.

Last season's PAC-12CG between Stanford and USC drew 58K. Levi's Stadium holds 68K and expandable to 75K. Attendance was 10K short of full for what was basically a home for Stanford against USC, a team one would think would travel well. Oregon and Arizona drew only 45K at the same stadium the previous season.

I don't think a lot teams travel well on short notice, especially when a team's fans would rather to go to a playoff or national championship game. Locals aren't may not be interested if the game did not feature a team in the same market (as you said, a VT-BC game in Florida has little drawing power).

Who can explain what the deal in NC is and why everyone is pulling their events out of there? I haven't followed it at all and a dumbed down version is preferred.

Must use bathroom, showers, lockers, etc. That coincide with *** per birth certificates. For example if a person ID's as a female but born a male, must use male facilities.

Based on the huge overall geography of the conference, I don't think you can make the case for a "centralized" location having much of an effect on travel attractiveness relating to expediency. Throw in fanbases potentially wanting to wait to bust their travel nut on a possible Playoff game appearance by their team and the situation is only exacerbated. I think at that point you roll the dice (again) on the concept that Miami, FSU and Clemson will be the longterm football powers in the conference and kinda make decisions based off of that. Orlando being a "destination" city theoretically shouldn't be too hard to sell to the family-based traveler too. I think you'd find a nice balance for a conference that runs an entire coastline to trend toward keeping the basketball conf tourney in the northeast and the football champ game in the southeast- with obviously occasional deviations just to shut everyone up. Again, goes back to my theory of moving away from a Carolina-centric conference.

Put the thing in Atlanta, Tampa, or Jacksonville at an NFL stadium

Nope Orlando is best choice all day and twice on December 3rd!!!!!!!!

O-Town thanks you for your input, but Mickey Mouse says money and the greatest tourist attraction on earth talks more than the other cities you mention which have been tried already.

Come To Orlando ACC Baby!! This is an audition for a potential permanent move and you better believe NO CITY rolls out the carpet like Orlando does to entice visitors.

Go Canes

PS: Mater of fact Otown may end up getting most of the NCAA games out side of basketball that are being relocated from the North Carolina area. Between Disney's Wide World of sports, The Citrus Bowl, and other local sporting facilities throughout metro Orlando it would be a simple move from a infrastructure capacity alone.

**** Orlando and that knee-exploding field.

Virtually a new stadium now thanks to a $200M renovation.

Since we have yet to be in it, I don't give a crap.

We should be playing in it this year, and oh what a better place then Orlando! There is a strong UM contingent in central Florida. Not to mention Orlando Airport (MCO) is a breeze to deal with.
