But yet miami will still clamor that they are broke but yet the ACC is only 4 million dollars behind the SEC in bowl payouts which is second and 20 million more than every other power 5 conference besides the SEC. We get a percentage of that so lets see what UM is going to do this time. This payout nearly doubled for the ACC this year compared to last year.

Why does Miami need a good football team anymore when we get guaranteed payouts off the backs of FSU.

The better FSU does the more money we make, without having to deal with the negative elements of fielding an elite football team. Every time a south florida kid commits there, Miami makes money without having to sacrifice our precious "prestige". It's over. The nerds won.

Put it towards the intermurral fields for better lighting. No need to do anything with football, its just a place holder for ACC money.

The administration will certainly use that money for other things other than the football program, which actually brings that money in.

We can thank FSU for that $$$$$$$$$

Ga tech got 27 million for the acc going to the orange bowl as well. If the ACC didnt get snubbed by clemson not going to the citrus bowl the ACC payout would have been higher than the SEC's

That's our biggest problem! Instead of allocating the majority of the money to football, UM places it elsewhere. And since UM is a private school, the administration does not have to say where the money is going.

Don't get me wrong, other departments need UM's bowl money too (since the school functions as a whole unit). However, the football program should be getting the lion's share, period!

The Duck Commander bowl pays out $1.2MM.

That's $100K more than the prestigious Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl.

Thanks, Al.

I keep hearing this, but when has Miami ever said that?

This is the correct answer. If you get the money for participating, why try harder?

The American way. Everyone gets a trophy and gets to play equal amounts. Don't want to offend anyone. Were screwed.

Their actions of the past 14 years speak for itself in not developing state of the art facilities compared to bama, oregon, tennessee and those type of schools. Their unwillingness to pay for quality coaches since shalala got here. Miami not having an indoor practice facility while schools like ucf, Fau, and a host of others have them.

Collective payout for all conference members is a joke. Its why the admins don't care about winning. Let each program earn according to their record.

Why should schools like FSU that invest in their program not get a greater share over a program that is in cruise control? I say let the Miami and UVAs of the world earn their keep. If they refuse to do so, then take away their conference money and eventually kick them out of the conference.

and this is why the football program won't fold...that guaranteed money is a cash-cow for shalalah and the ku mafia.

They absolutely have said as much. Their favorite buzz word/cop-out is saying we're "competitive" in coach salaries, facilities, general expenditures, etc. "Competitive" obviously is an open ended word and means different things to different people that reside in different realities.

I believe this is actually Golden's 9th pillar of success.

Now the biggest thing the ACC could do to UM and other underperforming schools is if they start missing bowls. If the teams start missing like Miami will start to do and the other schools get outraged they are getting taken for money the ACC might be able to act then. I could see FSU, Clemson, and other teams that are contastly in the top 25 bringing in the money going to the ACC and saying it isnt fair and put pressure on teams to either perform or GTFO. But as it stands now nothing chnages except Miami football will be worse for ware after the F/A/G regime gets done with this school.
