Whenever I hear a "pundit" say they can't trust Mario in big games, that's the sign to tune them out. Mario actually is really good in big games. We're 4-0 vs ranked teams this year. I heard one reporter say, even if Miami beat Texas A&M he couldn't imagine Mario ever beating Ryan Day- which obviously means he hasn't spent much time analyzing the 2 teams.

Everyone knows, his problem is getting the team ready for lesser teams.

Even if you expand on things. What would quantify as a big game? Rivalries, T25, games that matter for ACCCG/CFP would be my categories.

Year one here was rough for Mario. But since then, he’s 2-1 vs FSU, the lone loss a dogfight with EWilliams at QB their undefeated year, 2-0 vs UF both not close, 1-0 vs ND that checks the rivalry and T25 box. Played a T15 Louisville team to the wire on a lost season in 23. The Syracuse loss last year was bad, but the defense just collapsed. We came ready to play.

Obviously this year, took care of business against every ranked team and then played nearly perfect ball the last four games when they had to have it.

TAMU could out coach us and win. But I don’t see anyway we come out flat or unprepared. I just don’t see it.

Man IF we lose tomorrow i can’t wait to hear all our fans that were saying extend mario 2 weeks ago to please fire mario hahah 🤦‍♂️

I don’t have any concerns about this team being flat or not being prepared.

If a coach has to get you fired up and motivated for a playoff game in a stadium with 100k plus people and the entire country watching - I want you to submit your name to the portal come Sunday morning!

Mario went into the shoe and beat Ohio State in 21. For all his MANY flaws, big games aren't one of them. He's more likely to lose to teams he shouldn't than teams he should.

I heard the exact clip about beating Ryan day and thought jesus christ these guys dont watch the sport

"And he did it in Ohio Stadium, without two of his best defensive players -- injured defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux and freshman linebacker Justin Flowe -- before a crowd of 100,482 mainly unforgiving Buckeyes fans. Cristobal said the magnitude of the win was hard to express in words, but "it's a testament to the process."
