I hate the staff more than anyone on this board, but are you kidding me? You're just complaining just to complain. Butch Davis did similar things during his tenure at Miami. There's plenty of things to bash the staff on without having to reach.

I don't think its a reach at all. In fact, Id feel the same way if Butch had implemented this in the middle of the season. As people have said, this is something you do in the spring or fall to prepare the players. I'm honestly even fine with him doing it in practice right now, but I guarantee you this will be in back of the minds of all the lineman during games which is not good. You want to do this earlier so your players just learn good habits and by the time the games come around, it's not something they even need to think about.

Yeah, it's the timing of it. A real coach wouldn't have to implement this in middle of season after all the penalties. 5 yrs into it at that. And I agree, game time they need to play, react without having to think first. And I'm sure someone will hate that wording. It's a kin to the complaints on defensive scheme discussed so often, players having to think instead of using instincts. If they were getting punished for mental errors since spring, the problem likely wouldn't exist. I expect it will not fix problems this week, and if it does, kaaya will be in for long day of scrambling.
