Sucks. I was actually going to go to the SA Commanders vs Memphis game on Saturday but got this alert. Would have been cool to check it out and then hit the Valero Texas Open this weekend too.

Could care less. That league was the worse. To many cast-offs and not sure anyone cared about loosing those games, it was all about auditioning for NFL practice squads. Even when teams one a game they never looked happy about it. No big lost.

Gotta wonder if the XFL ever even happens at this point now too.

I made the joke about Manziel but his response to this was actually fairly mature and reasoned. Then again, he probably wasn't exactly depending on it for his primary source of income too.

Oh yeah , Vince is putting in 100’s of millions in this, of his own money. He just doing it right this time , rather than throwing crap together like it was a bar b q.

Not saying it’ll succeed, but no chance he backs out.

Manziel is a punk-a$$ *****, lecturing all the other players as if he has some kind of experience with leagues shutting down. Fvck that fraud.

Haha. I didn't say I agreed with it. I just expected him to opine on it as stupid as he acts in the rest of his life. I'd absolutely sue the league as I'm sure one of the "owners"/investors would sue your *** as a player if the situation was reversed.

Went to the Apollos vs Legends game last weekend, had a souped up HS game feel to it, & the nachos & cheese sucked.

Legends play in the Braves old stadium, them & Georgia St., how many freakin' stadiums does ATL have anyway???

There should be 1 and only 1 Minor League football league and it should be the XFL and they should only have games in the Spring. I wonder what the cities should be.

XFL should already be making plans to expand to the cities that had AAF franchises because I dont think attendance was truly a problem. Right now they will be in Dallas, NYC, DC, St. Louis, LA, Seattle, Tampa, and Houston. I think they should add teams in Atlanta, San Diego, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, Memphis, Birmingham, and Chicago. 16 teams

What Georgia State did with Old Turner Field is pretty amazing.

I personally was enjoying the league - good mix of local players who never got a legit shot at the NFL with recent X-NFLers. Talent level was what you would expect from a G-league or minor league team which is exactly what it was supposed to be.

Whoever developed their business model/plan needs to be hung out to dry. They offered broadcasting rights to their games for FREE. Therefor the only revenue they were generating was from tickets sales which were low and apparel which was still in its infancy. They really needed a continuous flow of cash from a major investor (billionaire or NFL) to steady the ship until they were able to generate additional avenues of revenue. Otherwise, why not offer cheap broadcasting rights to local TV stations and/or mid-tier cable networks? At the very least that would keep it afloat until it began to see organic growth in the local markets. Just silly...

so I got a question why doesn't the NFL have that, like I think it would be a great investment for every team to have there own lil G league team so to speak. where they can have players they are interested in or wanna take more time to develop.

What are you going to sue an organization that is bankrupt and out of business for? What are the grounds and what of the zero money are you hoping to get?

Also don't see how an owner or investor would or could sue a player who left? Maybe if they took money up front and didn't fulfill the contract?

They had NFL Europe. Though they felt it cost too much money and was not beneficial. A few players and coaches came out of it, but the league continues to grow without it so obviously not worth it in the overall picture.

It wasn't an apples to apples comparison, compadre. I was just saying that I'm sure ownership would fine or withhold salary from a relatively powerless player in this situation if they didn't fulfill their commitment. Who knows what the outcome will be but I'm absolutely certain some of these players are going to sue for lost salary.
