A win is a win

Look, I know App State beat NC and SC last year, so it's not like they are a garbage team... However; lets be real here. Miami got out coached tonight. I don't know what they were thinking, but by the 30th time the run up the middle went NO WHERE and King was calling the WRONG read more often than not, it's time to change the **** game plan. App State, with better athletes, would have crushed us, as it was they pushed our O-Line around, and our D-Line was not getting into the backfield at all after a while.

Yes I know it could have been a let down game, and it wasn't.

Yes I know that the smaller size guys are often a leverage/speed mismatch for the NFL size linemen we have.

Yes I know King hasn't played in a long time and has to regain his rhythm.

None of that, and I mean none of it, is an excuse for the awful play calling on offense, the defense constantly being out of position (due the plays called) with receivers running uncovered because of 10 yards of cushion, and wide open, and the **** poor game planning. How are you going to put a FRESHMAN kicker in for the game winning field goal, for his career LONG, and then leave TWO minutes on the clock for the other team? That is pure and utter mismanagement.

I see FIRE from these players, especially the transfers and the young guys. It's time to cut bait with guys that drop balls, play young guys until you find someone who catches whatever you throw at them. I don't care about seniority anymore. If Mallory can't block and can't catch, pull him, done. If Harley isn't 100% and can't make the grabs, pull him. You think any other team isn't putting their best players on the field? **** no, Miami needs to stop sitting these kids and get them burn, period.

You guys are miserable. I feel sorry that you live your lives consumed by such sorrow. Sure I’d love to beat everyone by 100, but a win truly is a win and I’m happy we pulled it out and didn’t end up on the other side of this one.

TAMU barely beat Colorado (App St would beat Colorado)
Notre Dame barely beat FSU and Toledo (App St. would beat FSU and Toledo)
Texas lost to Arkansas
OSU lost to Oregon

If Notre Dame and TAMU end up undefeated they’ll both make the playoffs regardless of these close wins and I’m sure their teams (not fans) are happy they came out with a win vs the alternative.

I know people don’t like this answer, but App St really DOES do this to everyone and I’m happy we won, I’ll go to sleep with a smile on my face knowing we didn’t lose tonight.

you guys can be miserable that we won if you want, chances are your miserable in your everyday lives any way.

Tyrique was awesome. Bolden, Couch and Carter looked good, so did Smiff and Chaney before the injury. Oline was solid. Oh, and Hedley is the best punter in the country and the punt coverage unit made plays pinning a couple inside the 5.

SIAP but the "a win is a win" mantra only applies to the NFL. How you win and style points absolutely matter in CFB. It matters in program perception; it matters to the donors; and it matters to recruits. The only time it doesn't matter is when you have substandard production from overmatched individuals who want to pretend their deficiencies don't exist. This isn't the Wizard of Oz...we will absolutely pay attention to what's going on behind the curtain. So miss me with this "a win is a win" garbage.

Lol this guy

Manny ******* Diaz! No program can survive 1 year with this guy let alone 3.
What an embarrassment. The sad thing is that the Hecht is probably in an orgasmic frenzy over this program building win.
