A win is a win

We’re supposed to be the P5 team, we’re supposed to be the talented team. Yet, we played just like the G5 team.
I hear ya bro. Let's see how the team responds Saturday before we start acting like we just lost to Jacksonville State. Say what you want but that App St team we played last week was a good football team. I may be in the minority on this but I think we beat MSU this week. Real.talk.

Go Canes!!!!

How are they so good with much less recruited players, no name coaches, no budget and meh facilities? What separates what they can do with what they and what we do with what we have?

Omg. Give it a rest. The team won a close game against a decent bowl team that they were a 7-point favorite over. The block field goal and the crazy return count, for sure, but they are also rare plays that made the game look a lot closer than it should have been.

Notre Dame was a playoff team last year and almost lost to FSU and Toledo so far this season. Clearly ND doesn't want to win since they haven't fired Brian Kelly yet.

Did you watch the game? That was a well coached team with a lot of good football players on it. If I'm not mistaken, that same team finished the season in the top 25 last year. They're gonna win a lot of football games this year.

As for your questions, I don't have the answers but what I do know is that team played with heart and left everything they had on the field. That was obvious. I wish I could say the same about our squad. We played like a bunch of entitled show boating wanna be's. The mentality of our football team has to change and it has to change fast if we want to be taken seriously. Let's hope for a much better result Saturday.

Go Canes!!

I don’t use this word very often, this soon, but as I stated in another thread, it’s IMPERATIVE we beat MSU. I don’t care if it’s by 100 or by 1. To start 0-2 against P5 teams, plus struggle against a G5 opponent is NO bueno.

When you say 0-2 against P5 teams, you realize that you are putting Alabama on the same level as Duke, right?

Can't argue with App State, shouldn't have been a close game but Miami played sloppy. I can understand a school like UNC or UGA having a ton of ST talent and returning a kickoff return for a TD, but when it happens against a G5, that can pretty much be chalked up to sheer laziness.

Rare plays? This is a dangerous game to play, if we are being honest. I hate to go down this road, but for one of the worst snaps to a punter I have ever seen, App State likely wins or we are (at best) in OT against Apl State. That is an unforced error (i.e., the worst of the rare plays).

If it wasn’t clear to people that the biggest problem we have is coaching, I don’t know what to tell them. I tried having this discussion after the game and was told that we have the same talent as App State. Smh

Who cares about "pretty" wins? Just win the game as Packer & Durham said it this morning when discussing the FSU loss. Canes didn't lose so quit beating it to death & move on to MSU.
The ‘win’ against a non conference opponent doesn’t mean squat. We aren’t going to the playoffs. What people are beating to death is watching bad football. You know what that means? It means we are going to have a lot less future wins, and that does matter. Being blind to the future all because you got a win today is a block head mentality. And ****, we just want to see something worth watching.

if you saw a big tumor growing out of your throat, but it didn’t hurt today, you think it might still be something worth examining? We all see the tumor.

Looking forward to playing you fellas this Saturday. Miami Swagger is unmatched and your team has the desire and speed to match up with anybody...save Alabama. They clocked us too back in the CFP circa 2015. To be the best ya gotta play the best...much respect from Spartan country to you all. Good luck:)
We are looking forward to it also. Good luck to the Sparty's on Saturday. Should be a battle.

Yep. Each game will get bigger and bigger in relevance if we keep winning. The score won't ultimately matter because we aren't a playoff team and the ACCCG doesn't care about margin of victory. We beat Michst and we catapult back into the top 20. We blow them out and all this Appst stuff will be forgotten.

Appst finishes the season in the top 25 and this victory coming off the heels of the Alabama loss actually doesn't look bad and it helps our strength of schedule.

A good season is still in play for us.
