A veteran who is having a great start to spring…

There’s 11 dudes on kickoff. One guy isn’t responsible for a TD. Get the 10 non-kickers down the field and hit someone. That’s nonsense. It also has nothing to do with him not being given a shot to cover someone in the secondary. Like I said, he must have been atrocious in practice because the kids we trotted out there every Saturday were a satchel of buttholes.
@JG14 just legally changed his name to Kick Off

I'm happy for him. Nice to have depth. But at this point in his career, you "hope for the best, plan for the worst". If Damari won't move to S and Patterson continues to have his struggles, unfortunately, we need to hit the portal again. That would suck, but no way should we count on Williams. Maybe Wallace can be a key rotational piece. But you cannot count on him either. We need more than just Poyser and "potentially" Day.
I agree we will likely need to address safety in the portal. Outside of Patterson being dinged up, what exactly are the struggles you are referring to? He's coming off his true freshman season and really hasn't had a chance to participate in spring yet so I'm curious if you are referring to something off the field.

There's another thread where it's clear his injuries aren't the only barrier to him having a starting role on the team.

He still looks like he weighs 170lbs tho

Now that this has been said the guy will ball out against Bethune - look like Ed Reed practically - and then disappear for the rest of the year.

Never understood why this kid got completely buried last year. He played a lot week 1 and then just disappeared. I don't think anyone will say he's Sean Taylor, but I'd have put DMoney at safety last year for a few series. Sebastian should've gotten some run. The kids we had back there were toxic waste, play after play, week after week. And this kid STILL never played, ever. Bizarre.

He's got good ball skills (paws). It's terrifying though that someone who gets paid to coach football not only thought he was worse than what was here last year, but so much worse he hung out in the 3rd row during the games.
I couldn't have said it better myself. I've thought he had the best ball skills on the team especially since Cam left. Other than maybe playbook/assignment issues I'm not sure what kept him off the field.

I think the portal will at some point jump the shark. What I mean is that how can a player truly develop if he's changing schools, schemes and coaches each year? I think multiple transfers often equates to lack of development (ahem Bear Alexander et al) .
Agree. But only to a point. As long as there are starting positions to be had, there will be dudes who believe they deserve spots that have not been earned. Especially when there are unlimited transfers at seemingly anytime.

I agree. I don't have the data to support this yet, and I'm not sure there's enough of a sample size anyway, but I think for every Cam Ward or Kyler Murray, there are 5-10 Payton Kirklands and Bear Alexanders. The latter group is the group I see having a hard time developing.

Start here and read between the lines

More bullsh*t takes considering they havent been in full pads yet.

Its the reason Markeith Williams could look good because they are in shells and arent hitting a **** thing.

I dont take any takes from spring serious until they're in full pads for a week.

…Markeith Williams at safety. He’s stuck it out and is starting to play a lot faster. Still thin but good instincts and movement in the passing game.
Kids always been good a covering he’s just rail thin. Get him carbs please
