A True Cane

His Pitt game comments really irked the **** out of me but taking everything into consideration it’s been a really successful career for him.

I mean 20 years from now people are going to look at our record holders, knowing the people that played here, and may still see his name on top for TDs in a season. As well as breaking our 10 win ineptitude.

Nothing personal against him but I hope that record gets broken very soon. We've never had a starting quarterback with legit running ability until recently. With the way Richt keeps going after dual threat guys and the obvious implementation of the quarterback running plays, that total touchdowns season record will probably get eclipsed soon. Maybe even next season.

Here’s a different angle you may not have seen yet, of Rosier walking out on the field before he threw the winning touchdown against FSU last year.

Malik has handled the demotion to backup as well as we could have expected. He hasn’t made comments to the media, and has towed the company line well. He knows he has remain sharp, as well as he can, given one play could mean him back in as QB. He’s been very supportive of Perry, offering him tips on what the defense is doing and how best to get completions against what they’re scheming. I don’t think that piece was ever the problem for Rosier, it was his inability to get the ball there consistently that did him in. We’re in a good position with him as backup QB given that and helping Perry grow as a QB because Lord knows Jon Richt isn’t getting N’Kosi there by himself as QB Corch.

Dude has balls. Loved to take on contact and had ice in his veins closing out games with a little bit of luck. He beat FSU, beat the crap out of Va Tech and Nd and led Miami to their first 10 win season in over a decade.

He was the best option last year with Perry not being ready and has taken the demotion with class and like a man.

We'll see what Sat. brings...never know we may need both.

LETS GO CANES :stormwarningflag-sm::neonu:

I believe that Malik views this more as a passing of the baton rather than a benching or demotion.

He is not blind. He knows that other people can make throws that he cannot. I believe he knew his days were numbered after the LSU game.

That being said, this cannot be easy for him because he worked his butt off and delivered a lot of great moments that many thought he couldn't.

It takes a grown *** man to handle a situation like this the way he is. I have nothing but respect for him and will always think of him as a winner.

Best rushing QB Miami ever had. Dude never seemed to fumble while bouncing off mofos.

Glad his turn is over though.

Can't Blame Kaaya for losing to FSU!!! Golden was the worst Coach at making Halftime adjustments. We were in both games under Golden going into halftime and didn't do anything in the 2nd half. In 2015 we had 19 rushes for net 20 yds., and we still had chances to win that game.
Can't blame Kaaya for the missed PAT in 2016 to take it to Overtime?

Not blaming any one player. But you're kidding yourself if you remember Kaaya fondly given the lack of accomplishments on the field.

I remember how soft the zone coverage was against Winston in the 2nd half. I remember Kaaya's Fr year where I saw the most conservative scared playcalling I've ever seen even though he was pretty polished coming out of HS.

It is what it is. Sometimes you get the short end of the stick and there's little you can do about. But let's not pretend like Kaaya didn't ditch the team to be a late round pick - and try to accomplish his self-proclaimed goal of making a Pro Bowl (smh that was an embarrassing Gruden camp episode) - otherwise it could've been him beating FSU last year.

Thank the God's he isn't QB1 anymore.

Perry doesn't need any advice from him anyway. Perry can make throws that Malweak couldn't dream of making.

It's like me giving Tiger Woods putting advice.

Huh? He didn't get screwed LOL. I can see why Bryant was mad sure as Clemson brought in a vastly more talented guy but that is the coaches job. Bryant should of at least played out the season . He ***** *** quit on his team. after the season whatever but dont quit on your team.

so burn the year of eligibility he has left just to live up to some fake moral standard? nah. go find your next opportunity and try to do whatever you can to make the pros vs sitting it out as a backup. saban just burned a year of hurts for meaningless snaps in a blowout against ULL. that's why he did what he did bc you can never trust a coach, any coach, in assuring you that you'll never play so you wont lose your shirt.

I hope Richt starts him for the first series of the Pitt game just so he can get an ovation and one last hoorah. It's Perry's turn but this guy deserves that moment where the entire stadium is cheering for him and expressing their appreciation for giving everything he had to this program.

This is Rosier's appreciation thread so why do you have to come here and spew your hatred? Couldn't you just stay away? I guess not, It's just your nature.

If he's a true cane he'll dress up as sebastian and do the doo doo brown...
Or he could go from afterthought pine rider to leading us to our best season in a decade and a half while breaking TD records.

Some might say that makes him a true Cane. Not many, but some.
