Watched Pedo St vs Auburn and Miami vs AtM.
Auburn is what we've seen from Miami last 5-10 years. Flashes here and there, but no foundation or solid substance. Like our Canes then, Auburn is in for a ton more 20+-30+ Ls under the Harsin regime. Manuela roaming the sideline in College Station and it's easily a 30+ point loss.
Last night showed us something different. Mario and staff have taken a mid-level D1P5 talented roster in under 10 months and made them respectable in performance and grit. Enough with this "Miami has the talent". The roster has the athletes for #11-#25-ish ranked teams to be competitve and "in it" until the end. Against Top 10 they need a ton of help. TVD is not a first round talent at this stage, put the hookah pipe down if you think otherwise. None of the players are, but Miami does have a Top 5 recruiting and coaching staff, of that I'm convinced.
What I saw last night reminded me of the '89 and '90 Dallas Cowboys. Auburn is the 1-15 '89 Boys right now and Miami is '90 squad. While they finished 7-9, you could just see where His Most Holy Coiffed One was taking them.
I get the feeling, at this point, Mario is headed in that same direction.
Go Canes.
