A stat I liked from yesterday

2 throws stick out to me. 1 to Brevin over the middle inside the 5 that was low and away that only Brevin could get to. Should have/could have caught it. The other was the one to JT4 in the end zone with Henderson draped all over him. Again low and away from the defender and should have/could have been caught.

One stat that stood out to me is 36 as in TOP. We were taking the play clock down to almost 0 everytime but it was nice the defense wasn’t on the field all game like normal.

We are gonna be on eof the slowest paced teams in the country. We were still in huddle multiple times with like 10 secs on playclock.. We even melted the clock on punt team and fg team.. Had to burn TO or get penalized.. Not really cutting edge like diaz said, but whatever

63%. That was Jarren’s completion percentage, in very difficult circumstances.

A Miami QB hasn’t gone over 60% and 200 yards against a P5 team since October 2017. Miami’s completion percentage last year (50%) was third worst in all of P5, ahead of only Rutgers and Georgia Tech.

One of the highlights of Enos’s resume is that he boosted Brandon Allen’s completion percentage by ten points at Arkansas. If the first game and the scrimmages are any indication, I expect this year to be a similar jump. And if the ball is not hitting the ground, our athletes will eventually break a tackle and make a play.

I'll raise your like and add, it's a f[]cking miracle.

If J Will can have that completion rate behind that OL, imagine what he can do in the passing game with DII quality protection let alone D1P5.

At least for one game, you can see why Enos gave J Will the starting nod.

He is QB1.

I like the throw that Jarren threw to JT4 almost caught in the endzone for TD against Punk @** CJ Henderson . I though he should have caught that. That would changed the game. IMO sent them packing on the way home. I think its the series where we chipped the FG. SMDH

Slow pace can be fine so long as we’re still able to run our full playbook and are utilizing motions and shifts. Drive 1 was beautiful because it was scripted and Enos and JW didn’t have to think. That was a modern, 21st century offense.

Whatever the issue was (Enos being slow or JW getting the play out in the huddle) needs to be worked out.

a bit misleading - 10 sacks

We have seen OC who run great scripted offenses before.. I dont know how you plan to motion and shift as game goes on when you are caught in huddle so long.. We had multiple penalties and burnt TO because of this.. We are gonna be a slowpaced team

I will chalk this game up as nerves and butterflies for the first time starters. I think Mallory will bounce back big time. Nelson will have a better outing next game, he can't play any worse. JT and kicker need to play as the veterans they are. Coaches sucking up to Tate was a total failure and they won't go that route next game. Hall will show up and LBs will make plays like we expect them to as disruptors. Ford and Bethel will better know how to disengage from the OLn doing a little swim move twist and not get in a tugging war allowing themselves to be held for 3 seconds.

I'm from Missouri the show me state. Manny will get these guys to show us the improvements in the next game.

I was definitely impressed by what I saw. I hope this trend holds into some of the easier games. If it does, I might actually be optimistic about our QB situation moving forward.

Completion percentage isn’t that impressive if youre not getting points on the board... great first game as a first time starter in that kind of environment but dink and donk style offense aren’t going to beat teams with equal or better talent. You’re going to have to take shots down field and take chances to score points

19/30 is a great completion percentage but for only 210 yards passing and 1 TD isn’t anywhere close to being good enough to win at the level we want to.

Lets put the completion percentage into perspective.

How many throws were 15+ yards downfield? 20+ yards?

Not many...it's a bit misleading. The vast majority of his throws were near the LOS.

With that said...the kid has a bright future.

To add to that he never lost his cool. No matter how often he hit the ground he got back up and was tough. I think he earned a lot of respect from the team for that.
