Key points:

- The school essentially handed the keys to a new cast of power-breakers, while politely keeping the old guard at a comfortable distance.

- Rudy Fernandez, Joe Echevarria, Jose Más and Manny Kadre ran the search. Epstein was minimally involved but was “supportive” of the move to Cristobal.

- Mas and Cristobal are tight and that helped a lot.

- Assistant coaching budget will be more than $8 million.

- No UM health system money is directly going to athletics.

- Brady in the mix for OC.

- Eddie Nunez still an option for AD if Radakovich declines, as is Colorado AD Rick George. UM made an overture to Alabama AD Greg Byrne, but he wasn’t interested.

- Zo and Torretta were legit candidates for AD, but UM decided it didn’t want to hire a first timer.

For a minute I thought that BJ was a new name for Blake James being that he sucked.

Anyways, Barry Jackson is in the same criteria, so carry on w/ a riveting title for a thread.

Also, BJ (Barry) is a non mutha 🤬 factor. His sources are more dried than a retired **** vet’s…………sandbox.

Did a quick google search
"Alabama paid its 10 assistants a total of $8,850,000 last season, which was more than any other program nationally."
"Ohio State football's assistant coaching salary pool will be about $7.63 million next season,"
" Georgia's assistant pay is now $7.2 million, up from $6.2 million in 2019. "

So basically on par with the big dogs.

I would add that no booster money has been needed for the buyouts or for MC contract.
Ruiz family is all over media. Twitter. Podcasts. Main stream. Estimated 20 billion dollar fortune. They haven’t ponied up any straight cash for the MC effort to date? Just spearheading a campaign to build a stadium? Limited role? That sounds off.

The context is it’s not needed and hasn’t been requested by the university but that they are ready to spend on facilities and player endorsement.
