A&M [almost] hires Stoops

LSU has the best TRIO of WRs imo & the space they create is special. Texas always gets he’s crew into open space as well..even with Weigman ATM offense wasn’t doing that imo
Bruh they ain't have em long enough to see if they could. 🤣🤣🤣

So their Boosters wasn’t okay with the Stoops hire, but are okay with their current DL coach that hasn’t never been a HC?

This some UM admin type **** show going on over there 😂😂
That’s got to be a diversion. Using A&M logic, if they didn’t get the results they wanted from Jimbos salary, then surely they will need to higher somebody they can justify throwing even more money at for no reason at all.

Ppl hating on this hire are wild.

This is exactly what holds places like A&M back they are always looking for the flash and none of the substance.

Stoops has done more with less. Is proven to be a program builder and get his teams to play hard all the time and be disciplined and he’s
Developed Lower rated players well.

People are hating cuz he maxed out Kentucky? And didn’t win the SEC…while at Kentucky? Lol

This is exactly what A&M claims they want.

Instead their fans and boosters will bully them into hiring the next Al-Billy Golden Napier. I love it.

Those fans have to be some of the dumbest out there. Dudes like stoops beat dudes like Saban and Smart. 10 years ago they could drop 50 on anybody and they still lost. I don’t understand what’s wrong with people? how many defense first, power run teams do you need to see win before y’all start to understand?
Mark Stoops is 2-18 vs. top 10 teams.
Mark Stoops is 0-3 vs. Saban and 0-9 vs. UGA.

“Dudes like”…uhh no.

Oh boy…defense first, power run teams…

Yeah I’ll leave this thread before Iowa starts getting praised lol

I love these no context post.

The talent has never been close to level in any of those matchups.

A revolt always ends up in a worse hire than the guy they complain about. Stoops would have been an excellent hire.

Even if it looks better on the surface, let it play out. Fisch isn’t an upgrade to Stoops IMO.

Their booster that is the most football savvy (but is lower in the totem pole of $ and calling shots) wanted Deboer, Stoops, or Drinkwitz in that order.

Last time this happened it worked out for lsu when they hired Ed o to replace les miles after not being able to hire Tom Herman. But if am A&M I would hire jeff traylor or cycle back to kyle whittingham maybe check in on Ryan day you know coach E ain’t going anywhere
Yeah but les miles just couldn’t get BACK over the hump. Made a change and hit on a generational talent in the portal at QB. Rest is history..ATM hasn’t even gotten close given their talent.. but maybe u have a point

I love the “he has no talent” excuse.

I get it - Kentucky was nothing when he started. But two things:

1. You’d think his record would be better than barely over .500 playing in an SEC East division that hasn’t had the best competition other than UF/UGA. Surely a well-coached team would be able to beat a few more

2. If he was so good, why has no other program scooped him up in the last decade? And why was A&M so outraged to back out of the deal?

But yup, I’m crazy.

11-24 vs. Top 25 opponents.

He’s also 9-42 when trailing at half…that’s why it’s hard to come back and win with a bro Style offensive approach.

Stoops is a real solid ball coach. Had some solid defenses at FSU and then made kentucky into a respectable opponent for all but the most talented of teams.

He is absolutely not who you should hire if you're the richest p5 program on earth and trying to spend your way to a title.

My favorite take on the subject. I think he'd do much better than Jimbo but still, too stringent for the likes of a team that quite visibly wants to win NOW.

It'd be different if he was as stringent as he is but let his coaches coach. As we know from Dawson's career , as well as, his preseason interview Stoops is definitely going to force his OC hand just like Mario.

Any flights from College Station to Coral Gables 👀?
Need a flight from Columbus, OH to College Station...

Then one from Coral Gables to Columbus OH. Hire the guy not named Harbaugh who's beat Ryan Day. Go band for band on fizical n tuffness w/ Michigan.

You couldn't be moar wrong. Without a revolt, Jeremy Pruitt wouldn't have had the chance to lead Tennessee to greatness!
