A last look at our offense in the CFP...

Dawson maxed out the talent we had this past year, after downgrading at qb, losing the starting rb/te and we still had an efficient offense epa per play

But you just will not survive if you can’t create consistent explosive plays, why he started the malicat to add another layer because our offense just wasn’t talented enough to produce without trick plays

And contrary to popular belief on here, just taking a safe checkdown is not the correct read most of the time. Eventually those become yards left on the field, mensah will be hunting

In 2026 we will have at worst a top5 offense again if not #1 again, who is the last coordinator in our history to produce two top5 units in a 3 years span? Will be some uncomfortable historic conversations happening after next year, the tune will do a complete 180 on dawson

Randy Shannon ;)

Maybe we should hire more Shannon's

Beck has become supremely underrated, winning is a skill it's not a coincidence he took us to the Natty. Also being honest we talked up having better weapons than GA but our receivers struggled to separate consistently outside of Toney and the other guy who could had bricks for hands 😭.
Beck was really good for us. Like you said he also didn’t have a ton of help. CJ was injured for a bit, Bauman was out there as our 4th wide receiver? That’s awful

I’m just sky high on Mensah. That kid has it all. I’m not saying he will be Cam Ward but I feel pretty close to the same when we landed Cam as Mensah. Just have to see if he has that psycho winning Kobe Bryant esque mentality Cam has

Makes what Toney did even more impressive to be honest. Usually WRs with huge numbers are catching bombs. He had so many big plays all based on YAC and dealing with traffic. Beck just refused to throw it deep at times. The Ole Miss game was glaring. At least 3-4 times on rewatch you could see CJ Daniels beat his man at the line one on one and Beck just wouldn’t pull the trigger.

Beck also couldn’t extend plays with his legs the way Mensah does. You get that and plays break down, gonna be tough to keep an eye on Toney underneath and the new WRs we got deep.

I don’t think we will approach 2024 offense numbers just because our defense won’t be giving up as much. Offense won’t have as many chances. Cribby called it the “hurry up defense” which was perfect. I think the offense could look as good as 2024 though

Toney really did have one of the most impactful years ever from a player at Miami. His ability is the least impressive part to me, for him to have the mental capacity to carry a college offense as a high school senior is insane

I don’t think we’ll reach 2024 level but its more about cam and arroyo versatility

I think if we commit to running up the score we could reach 2024 levels, because if anything the defense will be giving us more possessions
Time of possession for miami - points per game - defensive ppg. All vs fbs p5 only

2023(tvd): 31:05.60(45th)top - 28.2 ppg(37th) - 27.9 dppg(49th)

2024(cam): 32:37.90(11th)top - 40.3 ppg(3rd) - 30.5 dppg(72nd)

2025(beck): 33:09.85(12th) top - 28.8 ppg(28th) - 15.2 dppg(8th)

If our defense is good we will get stops, its that simple. This offense won’t have an effect on that

I just don't want to see any more games where Miami has the ball for 39 minutes and scores just 21 points as they did vs SMU. That to me is inexcusable. With the type of Dlineman(who can rush the passer) that Miami has they should be looking to jump out on people early and try to play from ahead as much as possible
