A few things from the spring game...

Man, however bad you got sunburned, you should have seen Ferman. That guy is going to be in Jackson's burn ward tonight.

Sorry I missed connecting with you before the game.
Funny you mention that because I saw him on the sidelines as well; dude was as red as a tomato.

as he says -- ''I know what it looks like''

The days of developmental projects(or too many of them) are over with

Wouldn't Manny have had to, you know, actually develop players for them to be developmental projects?

We sat on the D-side. Man, if you could combine Cyrus Moss' height with Nyjalik Kelly's width, you would have an unstoppable D-lineman.

- I got sun burned. Yeah, that's gonna irritate me the next few days

- I expect to see 2 and 3 TE sets from Gattis. Seriously, from Mallory, to Arroyo, to Brantley(who looked good), Mamms and Skinner, I try and get REAL creative with these guys. Especially if a true #1 WR doesnt' emerge

- Ivey was in a ton of press coverage today and I thought played well. Take that for what you will for Mr April. Overall, believe it or not, I like our defensive backs. Were actually good there

- We held out a lot of guys, so take that with a grain of salt. Guys like Campbell(who was dressed out) and Ty Stevenson didn't play (among many others)

- with that said, I still saw too many guys where I said, 'Yeah, this guy doesn't look like he belongs at UM.' We still need another recruiting class or two and heavy transfer portal action

- Thomas Davis can do some things as a situational rusher. Dont think he's ready to be a 3 down end Cy Moss flashed a bit, but he's skinnier than Lamar Thomas in 1991. Give him time with Dr. Feld

- I liked what I saw from Thad Franklin. He has a Lendale White quality to him as a college running back. As for the explosion plays, again, Rooster didn't play

- Still need a WR who can truly threaten the defense over the top

- Now Im going to watch the fights later on, and get some Aloe Vera.

Good stuff as usual K9.
Did Campbell look happy or sad on the sidelines?

Gary was a brave man today. Receding hairline and a bald spot, and that tough guy didn't even wear a hat.

@SpikeUM looked like Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now The Island of Dr. Moreau, he was taking no chances with that direct sunlight, but Ferman was a madman.

I wasn't there today, but the view from the stands might have been better than the cameramen shooting the game. I didn't get to see enough of the OL as I would like. I still don't think their was much push. Tackling was the most noticeable difference. The players look to be picking up the play books well. Obviously, they are coached way better. If you ever heard anyone truly describe a Diaz practice, you just wouldn't believe it. Fall camp is when I really start getting excited.

Diaz has really left our Defense in a ****** place. Going to take a couple of classes to fix this team. Portal may not be enough.

Oh, and on another note...gentlemen, we have a real AD. Finally.

Dan was walking around greeting a ton of the fans. Stopped and posed for a picture with some of the WEZ crowd. That guy just gets it.
I don’t think this is appreciated enough. Huge addition to the program and will raise this program to another level with the things he will accomplish here.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Thank you for the report, I feel your sunburn hasn’t been getting enough coverage today.

What a shame we have a QB like TVD and no depth at WR.
I may be alone here, but I don’t think that’s what we saw today. I’m not saying we’re in a great spot, but I think our WR just weren’t focused today. I think they can (and hopefully will) play better this fall. Basically, I think we have the talent to be ok there, so it’s not a top concern for me at this point. Now if they somehow look this bad at the start of the season…

Speaking of cornerbacks, & if I'm not mistaken, didn't Marcus Clarke also have a decent day? (I remember seeing him in on a few tackles)

Sounds like if this front 7 is revamped we could make some real noise this year.
In Mario & Andrew Rogers I trust.
Our Canes will be lucky to challenge Coastal this year.

Given how awful for how long they've wrt to Coastal Champs, they need to prove otherwise.

I think it comes down to depth. Xavier will likely be the go to this season and everyone else will run hot and cold. Just because we have good coaches doesn’t mean we don’t have holes. I am still looking at an 8 win season.
