He was hammered last week and rightfully so regarding his missed blocks against the Overrated and Defeated Domers. Upon a 2nd watch I have to say he was much improved vs BCC. Obviously against lesser competition but he looked better. I only spotted 1 kinda missed block, RB coulda gone off his shoulder. Still would like him to be more physical. Onward!

Did you guys notice this as well?

I wouldn't look too much into what a team does against an opponent without a pulse. Nothing is learned from playing Bethune Cookman.

USF is a different story.
I would when its basic blocking fundamentals that he should know by now. Also, how can we get mad at dudes playing down to the competition and then think it doesnt matter because its a throw away game... Look how that left Florida

I'm starting to lean toward there's something physically wrong with him as well. Just go back and look at the explosiveness he displayed on that long catch and run late in the game vs Florida last year and compare that to the ball he caught in the red zone vs BCC where he couldn't even get into the end zone. He should have walked in on that play. There's probably something he's gutting his way through.

He blocked well at fullback last year. This isn't supposed to be a weakness of his game, which is why I'm concerned about health.
His technique on kick outs is horrible. If he's 'hurt' and thus waist bending and lunging what did he allegedly 'hurt' but can still play and drive block a guy to the turf / catch a ball and run for yardage?

As far as catching and running, he sure doesn't look as sudden as he did on his catch against UF last year (just to use an example everybody saw).

He is hurt. That's not my speculation. How much is it impacting him? I don't know.

didn't want to rain on the parade, but was gonna say the same thing ... let's see how he performs this week ... because schott is the truth
Yeah can’t draw too many (if any) conclusions from games like that but it’s nice to see guys like Schott and Wiley just look like they’re on a different level physically than the other team

Sorry man but "sudden" is the last word I would use to describe Lofton, even last year.

He is what he is - a nice complimentary player that is a nice short-mid yardage/RZ option for our offense.

As D money said, he's hurt. He's trying to play through the injury. We should be giving him credit rather than being negative. Just remember, Bain last year when he was playing through an injury, he was nowhere near as effective as he was the year before or this year.
