8-0 but not championship level defense

I said the same thing last week. Just by bringing back OJ is not going to fix the Defense. Our DB’s can’t cover, can’t find the ball but make up for it by not tackling either. The WR’s are wide open. Losing Etheridge to Arizona was a huge blow to our DB position. Petrino did call one of the best games last night though. A lot of work to do if we have a chance at winning a playoff game
 
Depressing thread. Hard to believe that nothing can be done to just not be almost dead last in pass d nationally. Unbelievable really. Nobody is expecting elite or above average.

And after Cal I said we'd lose 3. Unfortunately I was spot on. With this team I think we drop 2, not including the playoffs if we make it. I really hope I get clowned for saying this.

Enjoy the Mali and Mensah show. It's historic but may not be enough to carry us to a championship.

Starting to wonder about coaching in the Secondary. It doesn't help that we've had so many DBs injured and guys are playing out of position, but it still seems we should be better there.

That said, every team out there has a weakness. I'd rather be us at this point than the other usual suspects.

We will have games like Pitt, where the D is good enough early and the O pulls away. We will also have games like tonight and against FSU, where mediocre QBs have great nights because any FBS QB can make these easy quick game throws. Heatherman has to realize that you can't hide this secondary. Either they get torched in man, or it's death by a thousand cuts with zone. Miami stands a better chance of winning a track meet, than these grindfests.

The only teams that can present problems for us is UGA ND and Indiana that’s it
 
Say what you want this is a game Mario lost in the past. It's ugly and frankly painful to watch. We better make adjustments, because they ish was trash.

You need to wonder about LB and safety coaching, the CBs didn’t even get tried really.
