8-0 but not championship level defense

Heatherman has got to trust some man coverage to show wrinkles

Mix in some stunts

More A gap pressure from SPEEDY backers enough with the long safety blitzes that are telegraphed

Sitting in soft zone and hoping your Dline is gonna win in 1.5seconds is not the answer

Any QB who has a pulse takes the easy read and moves the chains and keeps the offense humming
We went cover 2 man on North Carolina’s last possession and got smoked too.

not champhionship level defense or defensive talent. I do not get what Wilson is being paid for at DE.

I will say this. good news is Mario seems to be able to now win those games he use to lose.
We literally had a below average push. I won't even say anything about coverage and tackling. The difference is last year all those short passes with big gains would be stuffed or no gain. We'll get beat buy teams with good defense.

Is there any team that doesn’t have a big flaw?

Indiana: dog****/hurt QBs, significantly worse OL/Running game.
OSU: in big trouble to make playoff. QB issues, clearly worse along the trenches than 2025.
Texas: Arch’s decision-making, Smothers/Simmons/Goosby all hurt

ND: underwhelming in the trenches, banged up in secondsry
Oregon: Insert whatever you want
UGA: Poor passing game as usual, inconsistent QB play
Bama: Probably the most injured team in the country
UCLA: On a backup (and banged up) QB
Ole Miss: Lacy gonna be banged up all year, secondary is feast or famine

LSU: banged up (although getting healthier), disappointing on the DL

Texas Tech: Poor QB play and pedestrian defense
BYU: Slow on defense, struggle sideline to sideline
Utah: inconsistent QB play

Our defense is absolutely a problem, and there’s no excuses for continuously going to soft zone coverages where we can’t communicate properly…but it’s not like there’s a team out there that I’m petrified to play.
This was a confidence killer

Poor and/or inconsistent QB play means absolutely nothing vs us though. That is what we have to accept. There is no point in even pointing it out anymore. They would all have their best days vs us and be extremely efficient in doing so, just like everyone else does that isn’t a backup or G6 QB.

8 games in and nothing has changed in ACC play, so it won’t vs better teams either. I think UGA’s TEs would go for 200+ on us altogether by themselves. Stockton, whose ceiling is a clipboard holder on the next level, is a veteran QB that would have this defense in shambles. Same with Chambliss. We’d have to score 40+ in both IMO, likely the same for South Bend in 6 days.
