8-0 but not championship level defense

We had to be perfect on offense to win. And I’ll never complain about 8-0. But it’s November now and this defense is falling apart. There is no player coming back that will make us better. It’s not just scheme. We don’t tackle. We don’t play with eye discipline. We lack physicality. This defense won’t take us to the championship against better teams. Beat ND!

I know. Winning is hard. But this guy is a borderline make a wish kid playing QB and he carved us. I hate how easy it is to move the football on us. But we made more plays when it mattered. NFL type game

It wasn’t tonight, but I have to think it will be the D that costs us this season. It will be a shame to waste the time we had with Mensah and Toney, and a chance at a second championship game, but I think this very special offense will be f(_)cked over by the lackluster D.

Defense needs work, but perspective, no one is great this year on offense and defense.

Pretty much where I am. Obviously happy we got the W, but discouraged because for the first time I am convinced we aint winning natty. I don’t think inserting OJ/JA changes this. Hope I’m wrong. I’ll be in South Bend next week yelling at the top of my lungs either way.

But for real not sure what could be done about the defense at this point. 1st read is open every time. Time for coaches to make their money. Tape is out but that gives a chance to make adjustments. Right now we haven't seen that they can be trusted.

This, actually surprised more teams don’t…. Also surprised that in the last year hetherman hasn’t figured out a work around. You know that’s what you’re going to see the rest of the way in ACC play. This is inexcusable
