Changed 247Sports rankings from composite to 247Sports.
Since the composite is based on all 4 ranking services it made more sense to just list how 247Sports ranks them. The composite rankings is skewed when a player is not ranked by all 4 services.

Updated Scout Rankings (4/20/15)

Trending Up:
Ahmmon Richards moves up to #140 (209) +69
Jack Allison moved up to #45 (113) +68
Deion Jackson debuts at #253 (NR) +47
McArthur Burnett move up to #182 (217) +35
Amir Rasul moves up to #199 (200) +1

Trending Down:
Zach McCloud (219) drops out of top 300 (-81)
Dionte Mullins (252) drops out of top 300 (-48)
Shaquille Quarterman drops from 162 to 171 (-9)
Sam Bruce drops from 106 to 108 (-2)

Updated ESPN Rankings (4/23/15)

Trending UP:
Amir Rasul moves up to #81 from #154 (+73)
Jojo Jackson moves up to #169 from #229 (+60)
Tyler Byrd moves up to #39 from #103 (+64)
Jack Allison moves up to #70 from #105 (+35)
Shaquille Quarterman moves up to #95 from #102 (+7)
Zack Moss now a 4* on ESPN, Not in top 300

Trending Down:
Ahmmon Richards drops from #205 to #292 (-87)
Dionte Mullins drops from #24 to #79 (-55)
Cedrick Wright drops from #235 to #285 (-50)
Sam Bruce drops from #42 to #75 (-33)

Some interesting Observations on rankings:

Ahmmon Richards moved up 69 spots in Scout rankings but drops 87 spots in ESPN rankings all within the same week.

Jack Allison is now a top 100 player in both ESPN and Scout rankings. Rivals still has him as an unranked 3 star.

Dionte Mullins had a rough week, dropping out of the Scout 300 then dropping 55 spot in ESPN Rankings.

Rivals has no love for the Canes.
-They has the least Canes in their top 250 (5).
Rivals Top 250 (5) (Everyone else is ranked 3 stars 300-750 range)
ESPN Top 300 (9) Top 250 (7)
Scout Top 300 (7) Top 250 (6)
247Sports Top 250 (6)

-Jack, Rasul, Richards are all unranked 3 stars but ranked as 4 stars in most of other 3 services.

-They are also the only service to not have any Cane ranked in their top 250 that is not ranked in any other service.

Scout:
Deion Jackson (253)
McArthur Burnett (182)

ESPN:
Cedrick Wright (285)

247Sports:
Zach McCloud (169)

Congratulations Tyler Byrd!

How does 247 have mosd at 2* and ESPN got him a 4* lol

Actually 247 is not that bad. The only 4 star on ESPN and 2 star on 247 is Moss. Moss is the only 2 star Miami commit on 247. He was previously unranked on ESPN and they decided to give him 4 stars. 78 is a high 2 star on 247. Everyone else has him as a 3 star. There are actually only two 2 stars given out to all the Miami commits over all 4 services:

Zack Moss is a 2 star on 247Sports
Jaquan Nelson is a 2 star on Scout
No 2 stars on Rivals
not sure about ESPN

With Zack Moss getting his 4th star on ESPN there are now 13 commits who are ranked as a 4 Star by at least 1 service. The 7 players who still need to earn their 4th Stars are:

Devin Gil
Michael Pinckney
James Wiggins
Greg Simmons
Jaquwan Nelson
Evan Hinson
Joshua Uche

Last year we had 12 out 22 players that were 3 stars or less in all 4 ranking services.
In 2014 I think we had 13 out of 27.

Thought McCloud was nominated, not invited...

So, he might not be actually going just yet. They're probably waiting to see if any guys rated higher want to go or something, before they completely let him in.

Good chance we get Studstill.

Johnson was committed before.

Since it's pretty clear Gerald Willis won't be playing this year. He's part of the 2016 class for Miami. HW can you add him to the class?

Probably been covered but how much eligibility will he have next year?

He should have 3 years to play 3. He played as a true freshmen and will sit out this year as a redshirt.

Geo: I kinda see him as a 2015 recruit since he signed in '15 and will redshirt.

I hope the beast in the back commits to us soon...

EXCLUSIVE: UM lands ultimate sleeper
Matt Shodell / Gary Ferman
CaneSport.com

This WR is the ultimate sleeper. He hasn't received one piece of recruiting mail from a single college program to this point. But he caught the eye of UM coaches at Sunday's 7-on-7 tournament, landing a scholarship offer. And today he went back to campus, spending the day with coaches and meeting players. And he committed before leaving. Don't miss this big news.

Izon Pulley Commits to Miami/

Recruiting: 2016 DT Izon Pulley commits to Miami Hurricanes

Miami has another commit – and he plays a position of need.

Izon Pulley, a defensive tackle from Olney (Md.) Good Counsel High, gave his commitment to coaches Tuesday, several hours after receiver Reginald Henderson committed.

Pulley is the 24th commit in UM’s 2016 class, and the first defensive tackle. UM was looking to sign at least one defensive tackle this cycle.

Pulley, listed at 6-foot-3 and 250 pounds, does not have ideal size to play the position, but UM believes he has the frame and athleticism to support more bulk and still maintain his effectiveness. Like many players of his size, he fills in all across the defensive line in high school. He registered four sacks last year.

Al Golden was clearly excited, using the slang “leggo” to announce that UM had a new commit.

— Al Golden (@GoldenAl) June 2, 2015

According to 247Sports, UM was targeting four-star prospect Keyshon Camp (Lakeland-Lake Gibson), who committed to UM in January but backed out a month later. Another option, according to 247, could be four-star Glen Logan (Destrehan, La.), who is considering multiple high-level offers. It’s unknown if UM will still go after those players (or five-star Rashan Gary, of Paramus, N.J. Catholic, rated the top overall prospect in the nation by the composite).

In April UM offered Pulley, a three-star prospect according to Rivals and the 247Sports composite ratings. He also has offers from Boston College, UConn, Iowa, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech and Temple. Pulley’s school is located north of Washington, D.C. and southwest of Baltimore.

We will have 68 scholarship players + a K & P which brings the total number up to 70. We have room for 15 if no one leaves the team prematurely in the next 1½ years.

My guess is we may lose 1-2 juniors to the NFL, some 5th year seniors will transfer to get more playing time or be asked not to come back after graduating. There will be a few that will transfer for various reasons, and a couple that will get kicked off for disciplinary reasons. This will begin to unfold over the summer. I would not be surprise if we lose another 15 before the 2016 season to make room for 30 new recruits. Also a couple of recruits may not qualify or be asked to grayshirt.

Potential Early NFL: AQM, Burns, Coley, Dobard, Isadora, Elder, Grace, Carter, Gus
5th year seniors: Crow, Jones, O'Donnell, Hamilton, Moore, Gadbois, Jenkins, Malcom, Gall

A typical scholarship distribution should look something like this. () shows how many we will have in 2016 based on our current roster.

Offense - 42 (36)
QB – 5 (4)
RB – 7 (5)
TE – 5 (5)
OL – 15 (16)
WR -10 (6)

Defense - 41 (32)
DE -7 (8)
DT – 7 (7)
LB – 12 (7)
S – 6 (4)
CB – 9 (6)

Special Teams - 2 (2)
K – 1 (1)
P – 1 (1)

As you can see our positions of most need for 2016 in terms of numbers are: LB, S, CB, WR, RB
We need at least 5 WRs and 5 LBs in this class. We also need at least 7-8 DBs.
We may take only 1 QB depending on how Shirreffs and Rosier develop this year.
We need at least 2 RBs this year.
We need 2 TEs since 2 will graduate after 2016. Depending on how Washington, Njoku and Herndon develops we may only need 1 in 2016 and 1 in 2017.
We need 2 DE and DT to upgrade the positions and create separation, same with OL.
