Appears that we were in cover-2-man. That's not necessarily a bad call. Your other option is to play cover-1-man (aka man-free) and blitz. Now you can send 5 or 6 guys at the quarterback. In hindsight that would've been the better call...but hindsight is 20/20.
Anytime you blitz and play man against a running QB you're taking a risk. If he escapes the pocket or breaks one tackle he's off to the races cause everybody in the defensive backfield has their eyes on their man. In this case Perryman was the one tackle that he would've had to break.
