For our Oline gurus, is there ever a point at which someone is too tall? Can they become too tall for the QB to see over?
For how well he moved, could Shaq have been a successful OT at his height?
Pretty sure thats the knock used on Bell in draft process, like there is too much of a good thing..

Not a guru but I would say the improved gear and holding rule changes have made taller OL more effective. Those titanium knee braces prevent leg injuries that I think disproportionately impacted bigger players. And while you can’t grab and steer, if you get a legal hand on the chest of a smaller quicker defender, you can pretty much hold if you’re tucked under their arm. Just my personal observations no data to back that up.

Anybody, know what his recruitment out of HS was like? He was a full qualifier. So I'd think KSU, Kansas and others would have been all over him.

Some guys fall through the cracks. Remember Bryant McKinnie came from JuCo.

The lack of interest in him by any other P4 programs is concerning. I wouldn't expect much from him.

Ever or this season?

If the answer is ever, then the implication behind that is that Mirabal and Cristobal are not very good at identifying OL talent. Of course they will have some misses like every coach will, but I’d like to know more about the basis of your opinion and why you believe our coaches made a mistake. Because that is in effect what you are saying in not so many words.

Markel Bell was the #1 JUCO OL and this kid's next best offer is North Texas. I'm trying to understand why that's the case - is one of his legs shorter than the other or something?

You have a reasonable point, but our coaches have earned some benefit of the doubt haven’t they? I’m not saying he will ever become as good as Bell, but the coaches must see something more than just size.
