5-star WR Calvin Russell commits to [checks notes] Syracuse? For real, though... Syracuse

Yea the reason is LSU has the #1 wr in the country committed and two other instaters locked in. lol

Ohio State has 4 wr committed already.

Those two schools arent going to PAY Him the NIL warranted and he isnt a NEED recruit for them.

He is/was a need for us who we couldnt recruit/sell ..pay... to come here. Got straight smacked really for him .
Keys isn't going to end up at LSU and paying $1M a year for Russell would be a criminal offense.

It also could simply be that of a theoretical $12M per year football NIL budget, Syracuse offered $6M or $7M per year. As a result we backed off for the same reason we backed off of Rashada. With that price, it impacts retainage of key players across the team. He would be out earning all of them. Which then requires massive NIL escalation across the board. And that goes for Miami, Oregon, Texas….none of them want to go from $20M -$30M in NIL to $90M - $110M in one offseason.

So if that is the factor, then good luck to Syracuse when it comes to recruiting elite wide receivers to play alongside Russell. Or quarterbacks for that matter.
You have the concept right about creating problems on the team overpaying these HS unproven development kids but the numbers are WAY OFF.

Russell might be getting 15% of your 6-7M a year figure,

HE IS FROM THE 305. SO HE KNOWS THE CULTURE. F’CK HOW LONG HE’S BEEN THERE. EITHER RIDE WITH US OR COLLIDE WITH US. THE CHOICE IS YOURS.
You must have just gotten out of the time portal. What culture? The culture of off season hype, the culture of not competing for conference titles, the culture of mediocracy ?
If you’re talking about the kid, that’s all he knows ol’skool. If you’re talking about Teddy he knows the culture very well, he knows all about colliding with the Hurricanes. He knows the culture so well, so much so that he we to Louisville and came back a millionaire.

Let’s stick to “Culture” Miami Northwestern Bulls have a HUGE subculture in the Miami Culture. Do you remember the Trick daddy video ol’skool?
My whole point is that it’s criminal that we don’t have a Pipeline to the West anymore. We haven’t had one recruit from the West in 5 years. You can’t be apart of the culture and that doesn’t ring bells.
Collide with us 😂

Agreed. Just using a hypothetical, ridiculous number to illustrate the larger point. If an incoming player is making more than the starters at his position, it creates financial pressures.

As always you’re stuck on stupid!
It’s not about greatness because we have reached for a ton of no so GREAT players including at Central. We have taken a TON of ducks So miss me with the stupid shhhh.
It’s about the relationship to a historical winning local program smart ***. My point is that we have to FIX IT!

Exactly what I thought. You can't name any.

I guess in your little brain we should have 10 guys in every recruiting class from all of the Dade and Broward schools we want to have a "pipeline" to regardless of whether there any any players at those schools worthy of recruiting.

They actually had a few db last few cycles that we could’ve brought in off the top of my head. In five cycles I don’t have to look back, I KNOW they have produced some D1 talent that could have produced even on special teams than alot of star reaches.
My point is we have to have a relationship in the building. Do we have to take 10 every cycle, nope, but we have to have a foot in the door.
As ignorant and arrogant as you are you would never understand that. Everything is Amazing, it’s Beautiful no one has done it like Mario…. Bla, bla, bla. “The kid was trash anyway, we only recruit Greats” smh

Kam Kinchens was the only good MNW player in the last 5 years and Miami took him.

With the stupidity of your posts about Dade Cty guys I think I found Luther Campbell's CIS account.

There are three top 300 guys at MNW in the 2026 class and we heavily recruited all of the them.

We got one (LB), missed on a guy from NJ that went to Ft Myers and just transferred to MNW and hasn't even played a down for them yet, and then "lost" an overrated developmental WR that took the biggest bag. PS: I don't blame Russell for taking the biggest bag either b/c he's not going to make a nickel in the NFL or NBA so get it while you can pull the wool over 'Cuse eyes.

Do you think Jamari Sharpe could have worked out a developed in our Db room sir? Or could a 6’1 corner only develop in the big 10? Do you think Cox could have developed here with his speed in our Db room and on special teams? Did you forget Cam was a three star?
