5-star WR Calvin Russell commits to [checks notes] Syracuse? For real, though... Syracuse

Problem is Cuse really trying to make inroads at MNW. Signed 3 last year got Calvin’s commitment and Lennear has them as his leader. WTF🤬🤬🤬🤬

He chose Syracuse. Congrats to them for getting that done.

However, you can infer a lot. Not a single big boy program was going all in for the player in the situation. Thats a fact.

Good luck to him at Syracuse and all the people around him that celebrate that as some massive achievement.
It also could simply be that of a theoretical $12M per year football NIL budget, Syracuse offered $6M or $7M per year. As a result we backed off for the same reason we backed off of Rashada. With that price, it impacts retainage of key players across the team. He would be out earning all of them. Which then requires massive NIL escalation across the board. And that goes for Miami, Oregon, Texas….none of them want to go from $20M -$30M in NIL to $90M - $110M in one offseason.

So if that is the factor, then good luck to Syracuse when it comes to recruiting elite wide receivers to play alongside Russell. Or quarterbacks for that matter.

Just seems like we made the connection at Central and forgot to make it at the West. We haven’t gotten a recruit from the West since Cam…. With what we got out of him we should maybe take a few flyers on some kids from Northwestern. We gotta have at least two on the roster and fix this before 2028. If we don’t land Neimann Lawrence it’s gonna be a DISASTER

Is Winbrow part of his camp? He was commenting on the decision yesterday, anti-Canes of course.

Who is the HC at Northwestern?

I don’t know anything about Lennear as far as his recruitment goes, but just based on trends I wouldn’t get my hopes up there. Kids like that don’t come here under this regime.

He's not getting anywhere near 6-7M per year.

No, but using a number as an example. Whatever he is getting, if it’s more than the highest paid receiver on Texas, Miami, or Oregon’s squad then it would create NIL budget issues.

What are your several positions? I mean if its strictly Safety, I'll agree. DT I think you have to just let it play out. Like if we have a DT class of Lamar Brown, Bacon, Kennedy, how would that not be considered at least really good?

We have a Qb
our RB is top 300 and we're looking to add elite guy in cooper and likely will.
WR we have two 4stars including one top 100 player.
TE we have a top 150 guy
Oline we have a very good class that includes the #1 player in the country and are still trying to add Kolojay.
lb we have a top 150 recruit
CB we have four 4 star recruits
EDGE we have a top 200 recruit right now.

So Struggling? Uh no. Landing everyone and everthing going Great? Also no. There is a whole **** of a lot of middle ground between the two. We have a good class right now. What will make it great is if we can sign 2+ of the top DLineman we have been after, and make up some significant ground at safety. Even at DT the two we have is a pretty **** solid base that we just need to add a stud like Lamar Brown too.
But we have 7 top 200 recruits in July. Last year we signed 6-7 total. 2024 we signed 10. So clearly we have a lot of room to go to have a great class. But it's not even close to bad as things stand.
DT, S, LB. But most importantly DT. Bacon looks decent on film but the dude is 260

Brennon Sausagehead could be the HC at Northwestern you still have to have a foot in the door there. For us not to have a single NW player on our roster is mind blowing. What’s even crazier is our fan base acting as if 6’5 athletic wrs fall off trees down here….. Face Palm That!!!!…. An Teddy has only been at the west for a year to your point, that doesn’t explain the other five years.

HE IS FROM THE 305. SO HE KNOWS THE CULTURE. F’CK HOW LONG HE’S BEEN THERE. EITHER RIDE WITH US OR COLLIDE WITH US. THE CHOICE IS YOURS.

some sites had Jojo as a 5 star. Josh Moore has crazy upside, we shall see if he reaches his potential. im high on Toney.
Which site?

On3, Rivals, 247, nor ESPN had him as a 5* Let's not make the "Mark Pope was a 5*" mistake again.

That being said Jojo >>> Pope.

ESPN has him listed as a 5 star at one point.
