Another day, another prospect in the 2028 class trimming things down.

Five-star quarterback Neimann Lawerence out of American Heritage School has cut his list to 10 schools, and the Miami Hurricanes football are right in the mix.

He is currently ranked No. 27 overall, the No. 3 quarterback, and the No. 8 player in the Sunshine State in the 247Sports 2028 Composite rankings. He holds offers from 28 schools.

According to 247Sports, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound signal-caller is down to: Miami, Ohio State Buckeyes, Texas Longhorns, Texas A&M Aggies, Michigan Wolverines, Kentucky Wildcats, Oregon Ducks, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Florida Gators and the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Before arriving at American Heritage, Harden led Miami Northwestern Bulls football to the FHSAA Class 3A State Championship game, where the Bulls fell 23-22 to William M. Raines High School.

During his sophomore campaign in 2025, Harden threw for 2,603 yards and 39 touchdowns with just six interceptions, completing 131 of 185 passes. This isn’t his first move at the high school level either. As a freshman at Ransom Everglades School, he went 160-of-249 for 2,665 yards and 31 touchdowns while suiting up for the Raiders.

Now, with his top 10 locked in, Miami has positioned itself firmly in the race for one of the top quarterbacks in the 2028 cycle.

Really curious as to how Miami recruits top ranked QB recruits when the last 3 years we’ve skipped over our current QB recruits for a portal QB with Ward, Beck and Mensah. What does Cristobal say to these kids that has them (Davidson, Lawrence, etc) put Miami in their top offers. Thoughts?

Probably what all the other top programs that take portal kids and also recruit high school kids say…if you’re the best kid you’ll play.

Exactly. People keep thinking we're the only ones doing it when most teams are.

The QBs we've portaled over (Emory, Judd) were not highly-regarded coming out of H.S. Hardly anyone expected them to ever be the regular started. Of course we were going to recruit over them.

Even Luke Nickel, with all his accomplishments out of high school in the state of Georgia, wasn't considered an elite prospect. Out of Georgia and never got offers from UGA, Clemson, Bama, Florida etc. mostly middle tier P4 programs.

I'm not sure if Dawson just wants to avoid Big boy recruiting battles or if his way of identifying high school players is different.

I think it’s more that they see a few kids worth breaking the bank for in high school and if you can’t get one of the few you drop down to the developmental tier and reallocate

Is this kid going to be a mega stud? I copped an autographed /25 card for 5 bucks.

Saw on 247 that he's set to announce during The Opening on Thursday. Are we still in play here?

Would be surprised if not Texas
Why Texas ? Idgaf I don’t want another 6ft1 qb but I’m curious why Texas . We already have a short qb who can run last class . You could put a pop warner qb on mnw last year they would have made the championship still

He's spoken of sarks QB development previously, and not us because we appear to be attempting to stagger Izzy with 2029 Cj Cypher as the future

Kids the real deal. I am a lil surprised that he hasn't grown more though. Figured he'd end up around 6'3 and now he's probably 6ft

All that development of sharks seems to be lacking with the young prodigy he currently has... Manning has his moments but overall he seems like he doesn't process the game well still.
No I agree wholeheartedly, manning is extremely overrated, not a bad player but because of his name is mentioned a tier or 2 where he deserves....idk who he's actually produced between sc, uw, and now Texas but Lawrence is a good prospect and I know he's not going there for pennys
