CanesInSight @DMoney caught up with five-star offensive lineman Oli Olubobola after taking his visit to Miami on March 31st.
Here is everything Olu had to say after the visit:
DMoney: Let's talk about the visit, man. How was it? You got to see practice. You got to see the campus. What stood out to you?
Olu: Practice was really good. The tempo of practice stood out to me. The amount of coaching that they gave to each offensive lineman stood out, too.
DMoney: So you have choices, again, all over the country. Miami's tradition with offensive linemen, with Coach Mirabal, Coach Cristobal, is that something that appealed to you?
Olu: Yes, definitely. I know they send guys to the league pretty much every year, and I know they could probably do that for me, too.
DMoney: What do the coaches like about your game when they're recruiting you? What are they telling you that they like about you and why they're going so hard after you?
Olu: I'm being explosive and being athletic in my length. So just tell me about your process.
DMoney: What are you looking for? Again, you've got a lot of options. I know Texas A&M is one. Really, everyone across the country wants you. What are you looking for in the school that you ultimately choose?
Olu: A good head coach that I feel like is a leader of men, a position coach that can develop me to be the best player I can be, a strength program that can help me be the best player that I can be, and the culture fit.
DMoney: In terms of your process, where are you at as far as unofficials, officials that are scheduled, and where does Miami fit into that process?
Olu: I haven't set up any officials yet, but Miami is a place that I'm definitely interested in, for sure.
DMoney: And are there any unofficials left on your schedule or no?
Olu: Yes, I'm going to North Carolina, then Ohio State, LSU, and I can't remember the rest right now.
DMoney: And in terms of just the campus, obviously a beautiful day. You're coming from up north. What's just been like being in Miami?
Olu: It's been comfortable. I love the weather here. It's pretty comfortable. It's hot outside. It's not hot right now in Jersey, but it's good.
DMoney: In terms of Coach Cristobal and Coach Mirabal, I don't know how much you were able to interact with them, just impressions of them as people and coaches.
Olu: I think they're genuine people. They say facts. They keep it straight with me, and they tell me exactly what they want, what they're expecting of me.
DMoney: I know you're real early in the process, but do you have a commitment timeline as far as like after your officials, or what's the plan as far as commitment? Are you still taking it as it goes?
Olu: I'm probably gonna commit probably at the end of spring.
