Yesterday afternoon, Miami Hurricanes 2027 five-star commit A'Mir Sears made his presence known against Miami Southridge.

Sears plays two sides of the ball and had a solid showing during Christopher Columbus's season-opener against the Spartan. The Explorers dominated from start to finish, resulting in a 45-7 blowout win. Sears recorded two catches for 50 yards and one touchdown reception. On defense, he tallied one tackle for loss with zero completions allowed. With the game being a blowout, Sears did not play in the second half of the ball game.

Sears' biggest play came as his first touch of the game, running a drag route right over the middle and turning it into a big play and his first touchdown of his senior season. He was also making big plays in the run game, making huge blocks as a wide receiver.

This season, he will almost play every single snap for the Explorers. We saw his versatility yesterday and in a preseason game against Miramar, where he recorded an offensive touchdown and a defensive sack.

A'Mir Sears and Christopher Columbus High School have one of the most highly anticipated matchups of the 2026-27 high school football season coming up next Friday. Nationally ranked Bishop Gorman will travel down to Miami, Florida, to play against the Explorers. It is set to be nationally-telivesed on ESPN, kickoff off at 2:00 p.m.

After that challenge, the competition does not get easier, as the Explorers will travel to St. Thomas Aquinas., the No. 1 ranked team in South Florida high school football, according to the CIS latest poll rankings. After that, they will also travel to No. 15 Palmetto.
