5 star Leonard Taylor

Dude you have me confused with someone else. I’ve always felt the two receivers played because the other guys just weren’t ready and their PT was going to drop this season. Same with Cam before Chaney got hurt.

I don’t get the point you’re trying to make when you’re bringing this up. Doesn’t the fact Jennings, Wiggins and Pope are not playing debunk the whole seniority thing?
Jennings the LB...as in #44??
Because he has played plenty.in t the first two games.

Manny has his dream job and he's coaching for his life. He's making millions. If he has a good season he can get an extension and make millions more. To think he is playing favorites or doing anything other than trying to win each game is just ludicrous. Maybe he sucks. Maybe he can't coach. Maybe he's not the answer. The rest of the year will probably answer those questions. But let's cut out the conspiracy b******* nonsense.

His coaching is Toilet water....

I have bad news for some but multiple guys the last couple years ( different positions) have threatened to leave once they lost pt and they ended up back in the rotation. So guys play that card here. But pope and Wiggins losing pt was a conspiracy theory bro.
DJ Ivey can walk

I remember when Jarren Williams did the portal threat multiple times and got pt. They shoulda catapulted his homie-da-clown head *** outta here as soon as he even thought of bouncin. Comedy Central.

OBM; lol, come on dog.

U’re talking about an OSU DL that has upperclassman who are all 4 star & 5 stars. Lol

That’s much different than sitting behind our guys, bro. That’s a “wait ur turn” situation at OSU. We don’t have that luxury.

I said that in my response, but OSU is getting ragdolled right now in the run game. They have highly ranked kids, but Sawyer is standing on the sidelines watching those kids get flattened like pancakes by Minnesota and Oregon.

My only point is people on this board act like Miami does things differently than anyone else. And, since Manny is toxic as the Springfield Nuclear Plant right now, anything he does is second-guessed. But there's just an avalanche of Monday morning QBs around here who think there's some mountain of evidence that shows Miami has high NFL talent that sits around for years behind kids who stink. It's simply not true. The main example everyone uses is Rousseau, who he himself admitted was not up to speed in camp of his R-Fr. season in 2019 (coming off a broken ankle in Game 1 of the 2018 season), and Patchan started while Greg rotated in. The kid himself admitted he wasn't ready, but OK, even if he was, I'll give the pitchfork mafia that one. The staff is clueless and played Patchan over GR15. Point taken. Show me other examples of dominating players who sit on the bench behind kids who suck. And 2020 really doesn't count for me, there was no spring and very limited summer workouts. So if you want to tell me that Keyshawn Smiff should have played over Mark Pope last year, I won't argue with you, but let's be realistic. How many reps was he really taking before the bullets were live?

This is not defending the staff. I'm not saying they know best and don't make mistakes and all fans are idiots. I'm only saying that this is not a "Miami only" discussion. If you read this board, you'd think that every highly ranked kid at every other school is just balling all over everyone, while our stud recruits ride the pine for years. It's simply not true. Some kids do, some kids don't. But there is no bias here over younger players, the staff needs to feed their families and they do that by being employed. Nobody is purposely playing a worse player and risking losing games/getting fired because they have some rule that says young kids can't play.

All that to say, if 56 isn't out there on Saturday, I'll be shocked. It'd be one thing if they were saying he was way behind, etc. But Simpson has been praising him and saying his PT will increase as the season goes on. It's time to give him some snaps, and I think they will.

Jack Sawyer was the #5 overall recruit in the country this class and has played two (2) snaps for Ohio Taint. Yes, they’re better on the DL than we are. But everyone just relax. It’s two games. I’d be shocked if you don’t see him out there this week. Let’s see how he does.
Despite the loss last Saturday, Ohio State has a track record though to justify why a 5-star talent would be on the bench in their freshman year. Miami doesn't have that track record.

With this, I honestly think you need to let a few leave, and then when reality hits that there's no place for them to go, it sets in that jumping ship doesn't mean you're going to land somewhere. Sometimes you're merely jumping into the abyss.

Cribby ain't spouting of bs bruh....u (not u) the slurpers want to listen to him when he has good news but when it's bad all credibility is lost? Makes zero sense
The real issue is y’all read cribby posts and get something totallllllllly different than what he said from it. There is a fandom who takes and twists his words into something extraordinary as well as a group of people who just hate him for posting anything

Agreed. And I said it’s not apples to apples. But on the list of stuff we should be ready to behead the staff over, a true freshman not playing in the first 2 games should be well down the list, imo. We have bigger fish to fry. But he’ll make his debut this week and we can move onto other things that will actually impact whether the season is a success or not. 56 playing 10 snaps in the first 2 games doesn’t change anything, although it’s gotta be time to at least get his feet wet. I think it will be. Hopefully he can make an impact by ACC play, that’s when we’ll need him.

Playing the “threatening to transfer card” is illogical. I can’t think of any beneficial way of using it.
—————
For those not expecting to play in the NFL:
college is about getting an education and finding a good job. Threatening to transfer burns some serious bridges and hurts these prospects.

For those looking to play in the NFL:
1) If you lost playing time because you got beat out by your teammates, you’re likely not making an NFL roster unless you work hard at your craft and earn playing time again. Transferring doesn’t help you. Threatening to transfer helps you even less.
2) If you lost playing time because the coaches don’t recognize/value your talent and are being unfair, it makes no sense to threaten to transfer and then not follow through with it. Just leave and find someone who appreciates your skills and can help nurture/highlight them.
Generally, you're correct. Rousseau was the exception (even if he didn't transfer). Canes fans were up in arms on how he wasn't getting playing time. The minute he sees the field, he was a man amongst boys. Manny has shown he can't play the better players. He allows the same players to be trotted out on the field, even though time and again they make the same mistakes.

Kids transfer for a littany of reasons. Stevenson transferred from UGA, and I guarantee he's going to be drafted.

He was on the sideline sitting down by himself

He looked ****ed !
I would be too!!!! Knowing I'm better than the guys playing and I choose to come here to help turn the program around. Instead you sit me because you have some weird 1980's belief that seniority dictates who plays first! If I were his, JW, Chase and a couple others dad I would go to Diaz, tell him to play my boy or we hitting the Portal and still have 4 years left. IMO I'm sure JW and Taylor's parents will have words for Mr. Diaz.

I think 56 will see PT next week for sure. All your points are rational. I’d amend one tho..all fans are idiots. Especially the one who think coaches with mortgages and Tuitions to pay are purposely sitting better players over favoritisms. Or that they are so incompetent to see player A is much better than player B..and what evidence does CIS have? It’s either a 10 second practice clip, HS film/rep or hindsight..the fact is most Bluechip prospects don’t make instant impacts. There’s a big difference between being the freak in the trenches and then getting in college and the guys across from u WERE the freaks in the trenches in HS plus they have multiple years of college experience under their belt..there’s a learning curve. And there’s nothing at wrong with that…and I’m searching for the WHY there needs to be a major shakeup on the Interior Dline..first 2 games we held both teams under 4 ypc..the shakeup needs to be finding consistent pass rush. Unfortunately that answer is probably not on this roster currently

When we see the same mediocre upper classmen playing and making the same mistakes, it's time to make a move. Are you going to trot out the same guys that have a very limited ceiling and aren't coachable vs a guy like LT that's a 5-star DT that has significant promise? We can also talk about the mediocre safety play and how Gurvan Hall still sees snaps over a guy like James Williams.

Idk what it’s gunna to take to put this 15 **** to rest..he was hurt in fall camp. Missed multiple weeks. Was worked back slowly. And by week 3 the snaps increased..but what other examples do we have that a coach who started 3 tf LBS..multiple TF DEs has a issue playing the better player regardless of age?..remember Lingard and Hightower were the other ones ppl clamored for
