I said that in my response, but OSU is getting ragdolled right now in the run game. They have highly ranked kids, but Sawyer is standing on the sidelines watching those kids get flattened like pancakes by Minnesota and Oregon.

My only point is people on this board act like Miami does things differently than anyone else. And, since Manny is toxic as the Springfield Nuclear Plant right now, anything he does is second-guessed. But there's just an avalanche of Monday morning QBs around here who think there's some mountain of evidence that shows Miami has high NFL talent that sits around for years behind kids who stink. It's simply not true. The main example everyone uses is Rousseau, who he himself admitted was not up to speed in camp of his R-Fr. season in 2019 (coming off a broken ankle in Game 1 of the 2018 season), and Patchan started while Greg rotated in. The kid himself admitted he wasn't ready, but OK, even if he was, I'll give the pitchfork mafia that one. The staff is clueless and played Patchan over GR15. Point taken. Show me other examples of dominating players who sit on the bench behind kids who suck. And 2020 really doesn't count for me, there was no spring and very limited summer workouts. So if you want to tell me that Keyshawn Smiff should have played over Mark Pope last year, I won't argue with you, but let's be realistic. How many reps was he really taking before the bullets were live?

This is not defending the staff. I'm not saying they know best and don't make mistakes and all fans are idiots. I'm only saying that this is not a "Miami only" discussion. If you read this board, you'd think that every highly ranked kid at every other school is just balling all over everyone, while our stud recruits ride the pine for years. It's simply not true. Some kids do, some kids don't. But there is no bias here over younger players, the staff needs to feed their families and they do that by being employed. Nobody is purposely playing a worse player and risking losing games/getting fired because they have some rule that says young kids can't play.

All that to say, if 56 isn't out there on Saturday, I'll be shocked. It'd be one thing if they were saying he was way behind, etc. But Simpson has been praising him and saying his PT will increase as the season goes on. It's time to give him some snaps, and I think they will.

Many seem to forget LT didn’t have a spring camp so he’s more than likely not up to speed yet with both the playbook and physically.

Rightly so in some cases, many here have a toxic outlook on the state of the program and posts comments with blinders on.

I think the frustration stems from having a team of average-mediocre players and fans assume there has to be something better behind them because we're Miami and we have to have talent. We don't have talent like we think.

Fact is our recruiting has been overrated and our player development/coaching is lackluster to say the least. Bad combo to have.

thank you. Rousseau had back issues. He said it multiple times himself. Just like Keyshawn Smith has said he and Restrepo didn't really do all they needed to do last year to see the field.

But on cis that just means you’re defending manny because you have a love child with him, and Smith is merely a pawn of the Hecht protecting his coaches….

When the likely reality is that Smith and X weren’t 100% ready, and some were out last year with covid and the young guys had to overcome favoritism in the WR room.

Continually bringing up the Rousseau situation with false statements is absolutely asinine. If some idiots continue to believe he was held back because of favoritism and not because he was still working his way back from injury, than those idiots haven’t been paying attention. GR stated several times he wasn’t 100% at the start of the season and was being brought along slowly.

Fact is there’s a group who hate me because I have info and that gets me attention . which I don’t understand. I don’t make money off this , I have zero social media and get no clout from being on a free board. Yet people run with my info back to pay sites and blatantly rip it , or go investigate what I post then have their own article. Once again I get zero from it, it’s no longer my info and I’ll receive no credit because i’m
a nobody. And that’s fine, I don’t care.

There’s another group that dislikes what I say if it goes against what they believe in their head , they’ve created their own narrative and that’s just how it is. Kinda like people with their politics , and the echo chamber they live in.

We can pull out old quotes from players during the D'Onofrio era. Players would come to their pressers and fully support and even repeat what coaches had told them.

For example, I know a few players I met during that Golden/D'Ono time who openly parroted coaching talking points. They'd tell me they knew it was bull**** but wanted to play. Did that happen with Keyshawn? Who knows. I don't know him nor do I chat with players anymore. He's also a kid. It's totally possible he was told he didn't jump through X, Y, Z hoops.

Again, he may not have. The problem is we don't know if the X, Y, Z hoops are even appropriate. It's tough to trust the structure when we see examples - on gameday and elsewhere - that our staff isn't necessarily making successful decisions or setting up successful strategies.

All we know for sure is we're underperforming. Consistently.

No , it’s the same guys that 100% sniff Mannys balls regardless.

When I post something negative about the staff , their coaching or recruiting I know the same 3-4 guys who’ll come flying in either questioning the post or mocking it. Just because it goes against the staff. It’s literally groundhogs day.

But if it’s good news or positive they like it and keep it moving.

I get it some don’t want to own it or in denial and that’s why I’ll just keep it moving.

Well I posted last year to expect Pope and Wiggins pt to drop significantly this season because if it didn't there'd be issues, I got mocked by some but look at their pt this year. It might not be Fr vs upperclassmen but he definitely has his guys he's loyal too.

hearing some of the other "insiders" blogs, apparently the Taylor thing was planned as a slow roll out vs. playing from day 1. But then you also hear he was ****ed on the sidelines like something else was up. Who knows?

Not being “ready” is such an overused and over exaggerated excuse. LT has all the potential in the world and is 300 pounds. What’s the harm in getting him snaps? What’s the issue with young recievers getting snaps? They aren’t getting beat down every play. Not to mention if the older guys suck, it can’t get worse. So why not try? I would much rather see a freshman make the same mistake a jr or sr is making bc at least they have time to learn.

Not being ready and stunting the growth of a player happens when a QB isn’t ready like Kaaya almost getting murdered against Louisville, bc Golden wanted an excuse as to why he deserved another year. Outside of QB’s you should be wanting your young guys in the game.

Exactly. We could have a never ending debate as it relates to Rousseau and others that have come through this program as it relates to playing time. Do people really think players are going to be honestly vocal while on the team? **** no. If player X criticizes the coaching staff, the latter's going to take playing time away. Last year, outside of Harley, Key'Shawn was the WR that showed the most potential, yet we kept seeing Wiggins and Pope being thrown out there.

Recruiting has improved in the past 3 years. The best players we have, on average, are freshmen and sophomores. Most of the upper classmen we have are sub-par and dont belong at UM based on the history of this program even if its 20 years removed for a MNC. So I would much rather go 8-4 and play freshmen and sophomores, than going 10-2 or 9-3 and not.
