“Lamar said he had a great time,” Lamar’s mother,Shontol James, told CaneSport as Lamar slept on the early morning flight home. “We did a lot of fun things, did a boat ride, spent time with the coaches. They said he’s special to them, that he can be a great fit with their family and help out.”

She stresses that distance is “no issue” in the decision.

he brought grandma too...there has to be high interest...i aint dropping the draws yet on this one though i know how the bayou/miss kids are. (PAUSE)

I had this kid as one of my high ol prospects...feel the same way about him at dt. His athleticism is needed as a dt he reminds of Leonard taylor

I’ll bet Kelly or somebody from LSU met them at MSY or the BR airport when they landed…..taking them to lunch somewhere

Yeah, if he’s 100% playing defense, then he better have a Cortez Kennedy, Warren Sapp type career to make us get even with LSU for getting PP. At this point, I’d be happy with an interior d-lineman having a RJ McIntosh or Gerald Willis type career. Is that too much to ask?

I miss the good ol’ days when Manny was Mike Norvell, not winning anything and bringing in “under the radar” 3*. I understand that Mario has his faults, but anyone not thinking this program is better today than pre-Mario is crazy.

Way more physical than leonard. Plays with a mean streak. But Leonards hand placement was elite due to the martial arts background. Really wish we would've had more time with him.
