5-star DT Lamar Brown plans visit to Miami in the summer

No doubt
And if it were a kid literally at any other school in America, I’d be more inclined to feed into this. BUT THIS SCHOOL? AND HIM TWEETING THAT? Yeah, nah lol. He is playing the game, not mad at em. Who was the last big time kid from that school to not go to LSU? Dylan Moses is the only one I can think of, and he left for Bama when they were winning the natty every other year.

I just don’t see it, but I have no doubt that we will try our hardest to make history and prove me wrong. He is the #1 player left on the board IMO, so I’d love to be wrong.

You’re probably right. But if there’s a scenario it could be different, it’s Mario vs Kelly. I doubt the real power players at LSU let this kid leave, but this isn’t Manny trying to steal Maason Smith.
It’s not a Kelly vs Mario.
Yes that may open the door a bit.
But that state is different. Even when miles was struggling they still kept kids in state.
They recently won a natty and something like 90% of blue chip players stay.

Let’s put it into perspective.
Imagine having American heritage on um’s campus.
Now imagine um a few years after winning a natty.
Now imagine both of those things and completely erase fsu and uf from the map.
Now also imagine the last few years of lsu draft picks and pro bowl appearances.
Also add that 75% of the population in that state was born in that state with a huge chunk being lsu fans.
It’s a state that completely ignored the school funneling money from a pediatric cancer charity to give to recruits.

So yeah, nothing is impossible. Mario and his loafers and our nil are a force.
But I gotta see it to believe it.
If he pulls it off then we can say for sure that we can recruit against anybody anywhere.

Cajuns have a unique mindset. If you're not with it they dont mess with you. And yes what you do kindly have shown captain Spaulding could coach and they'd keep LA kids at an obnoxious rate.

I get it. Again I doubt that the people who carry weight at that school let him leave. I’m only saying there’s a time it could happen it would be now. LA kids are a different breed. They just don’t leave. I don’t think we’re being played some are claiming.

I’m not holding my breath on this. But if I’m building a scenario to land a blue chipper from that HS, it’s this one. Probably lose 99/100 times. I don’t hate trying to make this 1/100 win.

Lamar Brown, one of the top prospects in the 2026 class, has locked in a visit to Miami.

According to a post by On3's Hunter Shelton, Brown is expecting to be on Miami's campus from (May 30-June 1). After the Canes visit, he will then take three more visits to Florida State (June 6-8), Texas A&M (June 13-15) and LSU (June 20-22).

Brown is 6-foot-4, 275-pound and rated rated as the No. 1 interior offensive lineman in the class of 2026. He hails from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he plays football at University Lab. He ranks as the No. 8 player in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of Louisiana.

There has been no commitment date set yet for the 5-star prospect.

Brown is seeing interest from LSU, Texas A&M, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, UCF, Miami, Florida State, Arkansas, and many others.

Take a look at Browns film:

I believe this recruitment is WIDE OPEN. FYI I'm from Baton Rouge and I'm very familiar with U High. I have a cousin who is an 8th grader there who is showing signs of promise at RB. Enough of that. U High is an upper middle class school and that includes many of the athletes' families. A lot of those kids leave the state for college. So, if Lamar Brown commits to Miami or somewhere not LSU don't be surprised.

Hopefully it doesn’t stick 😂
I’m not an insider or anything but I got the vibes that Mario took our finish last year personally (jokes aside)

The 2026 class was one people have been eyeing for a while because it’s given us a chance to build long term relationships

So it’s possible we could see an all-in insane class this year. Just not sure how big I’ll let myself dream here 🤣

You made a point earlier that is spot on about the NIL era. Most on here think it's a detriment to recruiters like Mario when it is the opposite. Now that we have equal money the recruiters show themselves. When money is equal or close is when a salesman has close the deal doesn't matter the industry sales is important especially when money is equal and one party doesn't have a monopoly on a product or service.

This is a list of top recruits in LA and the schools they went to since 2015.
Some years they seem to not get a lot of in state talent.
But at least half of those years they absolutely keep most of it.
The only school in that time span that consistently got their top kids was bama. And that’s completely understandable considering he won a natty there and what he was doing at bama.
But it seems like some years they really make an effort to keep the instate kids home.

What's negative about it? Does anyone here believe their is any pressure on Mario this year? If we win 8 or 9 games what happens? The bar for what is acceptable has lowered to a level that I have never seen in my fandom. I hate complacency and moving goal posts.
Well, my brother, if you think things aren’t different today then they were 5 years ago then it’s on you. Look at FSU for reference. Everyone on here wants to win. You stand out as someone moping about everything. To each their own I guess. Maybe look at results moving forward instead of automatically ****ting on everything.
