2027 5* RB Kemon Spell

He ALMOST got his rights traded to the dolphins twice... Would've loved to see Dan pre his knees falling off with a running back like Barry. They refused to surround him with an actual squad & that's why they'll always be cursed to damnation until the end of time.
Dan's list of RB's makes me want to throw up.
Sammie Smith ( Was actually one of the best RB's Marino had but had Coke problems)
T Kirby ( Fun out the backfield RB but not a great back)
Mark Higgs ( Average back)
Irving Spikes (Average back)
Tony Nathan ( was at the end of his career)
Bernie Parmalee (Average back)
Karim Abdul Jabar (Average to good back but too small. Was the only back to rush for over a 1,000 yards whie playing with Marino)
John Avery (Ok back with speed)
Cecil The Diesel Collins (Would have been very good IMO during Marino's last year but decided being a peeping Tom was more fun)

You're forgetting my favorite RB that played with Marino, Lorenzo Hampton. He was mediocre like the rest of your list, but he's my blood kin, so that puts him over the top. I know nothing obviously, but I don't think Dan ever pushed that hard for a premier RB. For that, I don't love him like your typical native Miamian Millennial life-long Dolfan, and Elway and Steve Young are my favorite QBs of that era.

I think he was a glory hog and wanted to be THE reason that we win a Super Bowl. He cut off his nose to spite his face trying to win it all by himself. **** shame because he had more talent in his right pinky finger that a lot of cats that have a ring...

Sanders was one of a kind. His elusiveness and ability to make defenders (GREAT defenders) look stupid while missing hasn’t been replicated since. The only name I think that’s anywhere close style-wise is Gayle Sayers.
OJ Simpson says hello.
That’s impossible. 👀

Ok now that I got that out of the way, ahem. Yeah that’s a fair name to include with Sayers and Sanders, although Sanders did it better for longer.

Yup, nobody blocking except Uncle Lomas and Kevin Glover either. Barry + Great Wall of Dallas=20,000 career rushing yards, only man over 2K in 2+ seasons...
Wasn't even just the line that made Dallas so great. Dallas you had hall of famers all throughout the offense and defense. If you were just an all pro on that team (when it still meant something)you were a slacker. QB, fullback,te, wr starters AND BACKUPS on the oline. Put Barry with that and his numbers would be God like. Emmit was a good enough back but that's it. Was virtually impossible not to seem a premier back so long as you held onto the ball with that squad

He was slippery like a glove in his prime!

It's no coincidence that Elway didn't win a Super Bowl until he got an Elite RB. Oh and That RB just so happen to break the season record for rushing that year. Marino is the best pure passer the game has ever seen. He never got a great RB and never had an amazing Defense until Jimmy got there and Dan was on his way down.

the first run here is why watching tape isn’t enough and you need the camps. as fun of a run it is to watch, it’s impossible to usefully project 5 guys having him pinned to the sideline, making contact and still letting him basically cross the width of the field for the touchdown.

he’s so far physically beyond the competition it’s impossible to know if it’ll translate or just be a HS thing. someone mentioned Bryce Brown - a perfect example of when it doesn’t translate. Vs. Bijan Robinson who was doing the same kinds of things and of course tore it up.

Why does everyone overlook Jim brown?
I don't think they do. It's just that a lot of people weren't alive when Brown was doing it. Heck, a lot of posters here weren't alive when Payton was playing. The farther back you go, memories fade.

I never saw Brown play. For me, Barry's probably the best ever. Bo Jackson might have been the greatest if he was able to stay healthy.

Uh you ever seen him run? His style was not Barry Sanders/Gayle Sayers/OJ.

That’s not a slight on JB. He just had a different style.

We weren’t compiling a list of best RBs ever. Someone compared Kemon Spell to Barry Sanders’ style. Jim Brown’s style was nothing like Sanders.

**** bro. You just made my day. That was a memory lane of RBs - hadn’t heard those names even mentioned in decades.

Been a season ticket holder for the Phins and CANES since 79. Seen alot of RB's and that post definitely brought up some bad memories for me. I used to run a Valet Parking service and one of the doors I ran was The Crab House on 79th st. I used to park Claytons car up front and he would chill outside with me and talk ball. I remember telling him I thought this young kid Irving Spikes was going to be great and he just chuckled and said the Phins will never get Dan a star RB. 🤷‍♂️

Also Bobby Humphrey, who was actually a good back and had one okay year before being constantly injured.

Spikes, as I recall, also got in off field trouble. In 93/94/95 the Spikes/Parmalee duo (Irving and Bernie - great south FL names) was good enough but the defense let us down ultimately.
