3 weeks in a row the other team has put together 10+ play 70+ yard 5+ minute drives against us to open the game

Love the defense this year but would like to see us start a bit stronger (more Captain Obvious **** I know but…)

he's never called plays, so are you talking about the one last year that was #1 in all important metrics, or the one this year that has done well enough to be undefeated (sans a Carson beck meltdown game)

Came to say the same thing. For some reason, the first drive or two recently it feels like we just straight up skipped the prior weeks practice/film prep and we look like shades of last year. Then we settle in and dominate. If we could play defense the first few drives the way we do once settled in, this defense would be historic.

Part of it is definitely other teams emptying the clip on us. We were watching the FSU game and a few people were like wow that was their whole playbook on the first drive. So 3 points you could feel was a big win. Louisville same thing should have happened though Brohm clearly has more than just one drive in him

They also went for it on 4th down on their side of the field. That’s what heavy underdogs do. SMU will have couple plays ready for us on their first drive. Likely something to take advantage of personnel since they play so fast. If we hold them to 3 or less on their first drive, I like us to cover.
