40 Times

electronically times sub 4.3's are extremely rare i think i only one guy JJ nelson did it at the combine last year and he's a 160lb track athlete. As for linebackers ryan shazier is the only LB i remember recently running in the 4.3's at the combine

Can all you idiots stop throwing out numbers like 4.28

Plain and simple, there is most likely not a single player in high school football in the nation with speed like that.

To the ******** that say we need to get back to recruiting "4.3 speed linebackers"..... you're drunk, go home.

I agree. Maybe not a 4.28.

It could have been a 4.26.

Williams has LEGIT speed.

Consistently finishes in the top 5 in 100m track races against the biggest HS in the state.

His best time is 10.83. That is BLAZING fast.

He is probably one of the 25 fastest HS football players in the country.

Regardless! Latrell Williams is fast based on his legit track times and watching his film. Speed kills and the more you have the better.

We talkin' hand-timed or electronic/laser?

Hand-timed 4.28's aren't unrealistic at all for some high school kids. That would likely make him a "legit" 4.4 kid. (on the laser)

When you see people throw out times like that when talking about high school kids they're likely referring to hand times. Just gotta take those with a grain of salt.

Regardless, fast is fast. You still got wheels if you run anywhere in the 4.2-4.5 range, even if it's hand-timed.

Williams is fast, but that 100m time is not as special as you make it out to be. That time is the 600th fastest in the country.

We will have to wait and see how he does this track season. I'm very excited with the pickup but with all the information available (including a 4.54 time from an espn combine) a sub 4.4 time is unrealistic.

A 4.54 time (if electronic) is pretty **** good for a rising senior. Nelson Agholor ran a 4.59 as a rising senior, put on 20 pounds, then clocked in at a 4.43 at the combine.

He looks fast on tape and on the field which is most important.

Not sure if it was hand timed or laser, more than likely hand but, Willie Johnson ran a 4.31 at an FSU camp

Ok? You mad that someone quoted his coach about his 40 time. Some of you all get in your feelings about any and everything. We just got a commit from a player we all wanted and you're whining about his reported 40 time. Wow

I think it has more to do with other players. We credit this kid with a 4.3 and now 4.5 LBs are too slow for us. Point is about consistency and not judging a kid because his 40 time doesn't match a most likely bogus 40 time some kids coach said he ran.

OP stop being a little whiny boitch. Who elected you as the chief of police regulating 40 time post?

His coach threw out that number.

I don't know what he runs now, but on tape his speed looks similar to Travis Benjamin and Sam Shields coming out. Those are two of the fastest players in the NFL.

Shields ran a legit 4.3 flat in college.

I know for a fact our high school RB ran a 4.2 and was a state champion in track at 10 something in 100 meters. Also, Jordan Scarlett just last year, ran a 4.3 laser at the opening.
