4* WDE/OLB Kevin Harris

Definitely want, but kid is 2 years away from sniffing the field. He is tiny for a CFB DE...

Jesus...this post wasn't received well...oh well, *** it...kid is a toothpick, but surely Gus "Christness" Felder can add a cool 50 pounds on this kid in a year.

For the record, the info I had on Harris was accurate at the time. He did commit to Miami while on his visit. For what ever reason he just changed his mind. Below is a quote from a 247 article.

"Miami almost beat out Alabama for Top247 defensive end Kevin Harris. How close was it? Pretty **** close. Harris not only told Jess Simpson last week that he was coming to UM, but he also relayed that same message to Richt. While Harris decision to commit to the Crimson Tide obviously hurts, not all is lost at defensive end. The general word coming out of Coral Gables is that the Hurricanes have plenty of options on the board this cycle and will continue to evaluate linemen around the country."

There seems to have been more going on with this recruitment behind the scenes than was public.

I read two articles last night on SEC Country about him - worth reading because they are too long to recap.

One by Jeff Sentell On his twitter page @Jeffsentell It's about the 4 Grayson kids who committed on Tuesday

The other is on SEC Country web page - "WHy new Alabama Commit Kevin Harris has a bone to pick with Georgia"

Have to believe Jess Simpson and CMR had some knowledge of this stuff. Definitely think this kid's head was all over and Bama took advantage.

He tried to commit months back to Georgia and Kirby didn’t take it. Which rubbed Owen Pappoe his teammate the wrong way too

yup

The back story with Harris and Georgia started when he was a sophomore - they offered him and when he tried to commit in the summer, they told him he had to camp with them first. He was already slated to go to the IMG camp and there wasn't another camp at Georgia after that. They put him off all summer and then the season started.

Supposedly something happened with Clemson last fall too. It kind of explains why he jumped so quick to get the process over-he was done with it. The rest of the SEC country article talks about how Georgia and Alabama steal each other's recruits - last year Kirby was the bigger winner. Seems like Harris could have been caught up in the this muck a little bit. IDK.

F that! What’s up w ur word, though? U tell the coaches u commit, just to go back on ur word? How bout not saying chit? How bout just telling the coaches, “I thank u for this opportunity, and it’s giving me a lot to think about.” But don’t be a Judas about the situation.
