With the 2027 recruiting class taking shape, Miami is already identifying key targets for 2028. Four-star wide receiver Maximus Curry is planning a visit to Miami this summer, he tells CanesInSight.
"I don't have a [visit] date set yet to visit Miami, but I plan on going down sometime this summer," Curry said.
Curry is rated as a four-star prospect according to 247Sports, ranking No. 139 nationally, No. 18 wide receiver, and No. 7 player in Tennessee. He holds 24 offers including Miami, Alabama, Auburn, BYU, Colorado, Florida, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisville, among others.
Curry told CanesInSight that four schools are pursuing him the hardest early in his recruitment: Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and Vanderbilt. Even though Miami didn't make the list, he praised wide receivers coach Kevin Beard.
"Miami is definitely [pursuing me] as coach Kevin Beard is a trustworthy person and a very good coach. I haven't yet built a good relationship with Coach Cristobal. But me and Coach Beard could have something special especially because he has close relations with one of my coaches at my school," Curry said.
Curry has visited Kentucky, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, and Clemson. He stands 5-foot-10 and weighs 180 pounds. This past season at Battle Ground Academy he recorded 56 receptions, 1,392 receiving yards, and 20 touchdowns.
