4-star DT commit Collins goes in-depth on pledge at UA Miami

Win 10 games and get to the ACCCG and the rest takes care of itself. I have no issue with him saying what he said. Only issue I had is with him saying Stroud only sometimes talks to him. Literally getting paid crazy money to coach and recruit and you're only on the phone with this kid, who is in our backyard btw, only "sometimes". Nope don't like that.

No question that winning a significant number of games (at least 10) will overall improve our recruiting profile.

But ask yourself this question, and be honest, do you think it’s going to make a difference here if we win 10 or 11 games next year? Because I’ll be honest, I’m getting that aroma like it’s not going to make any difference in this one specific situation.
This cat is wanting to dip and had the perfect out, but sat on it and now needs to start using the coach doesn't talk to him much excuse. This guy will be out in the next couple of weeks, so start respecting his decision.

I agree with an earlier post, really not to impress with his film, maybe the staff has other recruits higher on the board. Seems we are not showing the same intensity going after this kid, that we did say Roberts, or Devanta last recruiting season : Seems they are more into his teammate Taylor

That’s exactly how I’m seeing it, sadly. Hope I’m wrong.

I'd hate a job where I'm focused on teaching who's in front of me and having to talk to a kid every single day. I don't talk to my dang family that much it's ridiculous what the heck do you say every single day?

It can be done but when you dont have a HC that dont harp on recruiting this happens. Some schools require their coaches to spend 3 hours a day call their Top Prospects. Some schools recruits their coaches to maintain a Top 10 list every month for their position and have to keep Communication logs to show they spoke with each recruit every day.

Doesnt seem like we have these protocols

And some of yall are ridiculous. The kid is keep it real and his interviews sound the same.

I guess recruits arent allowed to be honest

Not to sound like a homer but maybe UM knows this guy is flipping and not coming so why waste time. Diaz is big into not playing games and this guy has all the makings of a Keef Bryant, Khris Bogle situation where he commits then decommits then recommits and on and on. I’m expecting this to end in a hat game on signing day and we won’t be happy.

So our coaches should just quit on a commit?

Khris Bogle never was a commit. That is different

I don't have any problem with what he said. We are so hard on these kids when they don't commit but its not them its not them at all. When you look at our program its ****** from the board to the president to the AD to the coaches and then the players who don't go hard. So when A kid says hey Miami got a lot to work on to show that they can be a contender I don't have a problem with it. And why Stroud is not talking to this kid everyday his tape is the real thing?
If you had a kid a 5 star in your own house and you told him hey son you need to go to Miami they wont win the acc they wont even play for it. They wont be in the college playoffs anytime soon. Would you really send him there to ruin his career?
I Love Miami and glad Diaz made the right changes so when the kids see the change is working and they can compete and win then they will come.
You think Alabama gets kids bc its Alabama no its bc they win. **** nobody was going to Clemson before they started winning and showing change.

We got EXTREMELY lucky that we finished with a top 15 class after having our worst season since the 70s. I have no idea how this staff pulled it off but they did. They won't get that lucky again this cycle. Manny has to sit in his own **** after that last season and just deal with it for the next 6 months and there is nothing he can do about it. A lot of recruiting interviews are going to sound just like Collins one did. We start winning and these interviews start sounding a lot different in late-November.

"Man UM, the swag is back. I love everything about them. Who doesn't want to stay home and win a title?"
"They have always been my dream school."

Yada yada yada.

Let me preface this by saying I completely agree that the team needs to start winning more if they want to continue pulling in the top local kids. With that said, this kid ain't coming here. Maaaaaybe if they did something ridiculous like win the national title (i know) but otherwise this kid is all gator with his highschool friends. He was ALL Miami when they went 7-6 but finishing 6-7 was the straw that broke the camel's back? FOH. The whole "Coach doesn't keep in touch with me" line is just an excuse for when he decommits.

Saban was taking over a culture that Mike Shula developed and was getting to know the roster. Saban had been a head coach and won a title at LSU. This was Manny's first year and he'd been around this team for four years at the time. Anytime a coach has a disastrous season, defaulting to Saban's first year at Bama is not the way to go. Because how many Sabans are in the college football world right now?
The point is he can turn things around so JUST give him some time.

F this kid if he doesn't want to be here let him go these are the bad character kids that we don't need on our team

This is the perfect example of the dumb *** so called UM fans these days, already bashing a junior in highschool, WTF is wrong with yall, the reading comprehension levels in here are real low, this man savion clearly wants to be and play at UM, but he's not a clown nor fool. He's doing the right and smart thing by keeping his options open, its up to coach diaz, stroud and young baker to make sure he sticks, ****, he's already committed, its not that we went 6 & 7 last year, its how we looked in the process.

We need to start looking dominant defensively and look like we know WTF we doing, coach diaz is going into only his 2nd year as a headcoach, he's definitely trying his best and has the smarts to be successful, can he lead men. Coach stroud is no slouch, our run defense was a good sign he knows WTF he's doing as well as greg rousseau ballin out, and garvin's run defense was next to elite, coach stroud has a real good idea of what he's doing, he's not a problem.

One things for certain, savion is a smart young man, not falling for the hype, but adding ed reed to the mix, and ramping up the speed of the team, will definitely by default get this team back to playing with the sense of urgency that all Great UM teams played with in times past, i dont like hearing the word "swag" sounds kind of ghey to me, but this guy, if he stays away from the word seems to have the confidence that we havent had in a long time at oc:

I’m a die hard fan...

Last season was an absolute gut punch on a weekly basis start to finish. Don’t blame a kid who’s trying to make the best decision for himself for having doubts
