He doesn't run a 2-gap 3-4. He runs a single gap 3-4. He ran that with Nick Aliotti at Oregon, runs it now with Billy Davis.

Do you know much about scheme? If so, I can walk you through the differences. If you just assume 3-4 means 2gap, it will prob go over your head.
 
We have fans that point out the horrible moves made by our administration in terms of hiring guys like Randy Shannon and Al Golden. The same fans also go on to criticize Chip Kelly of all coaches and how he'd be a horrible coach at Miami. Miami is truly a special place as Sonny mentioned. We have some of the biggest dip **** fans I've ever seen. My god the stupidity is out there. Thank god you fckers aren't making the call on this one. I officially have more faith in Blake James compared to some of you. Wow.
 
Oh, and Chip Kelly won the NFC East in his first year as coach. So him not going to the playoffs in the NFL is another failed argument. You could make the argument that he's not a great GM. That's fine. But in the NFL, you can't stockpile all of the talent you want like you can in college.

WEll said. I used to think that the fans could do a better job picking a head coach than the AD. Not so sure of that anymore.

You ******* nerds think there is some kind of super secret trick to coaching at Miami that nobody knows besides whichever coach of the day's **** you're sucking at the moment.

Here's the trick: being an elite coach.

Agreed. Also, for the record I'm glad I'm not Blake James. I actually feel sorry for him. Thing is though, this candidate pool is actually pretty deep. So there's multiple correct answers. Problem is, there's also some coaches that would come here that would probably get similar results to our last failure.

He's a decent "in case of emergency break glass" option but you'll have to forgive me....I've never been in love with Butch the way many of you are. Chip Kelly has never won a NCAA title. Neither has Butch.

Butch has taken one of the historically worst NFL teams to the playoffs in his 2nd year in the league. Chip Kelly hasn't ever taken any NFL team to the playoffs.

Butch Davis put together the greatest team in the history of college football. Chip Kelly hasn't ever been in that particular conversation.

Butch Davis had Tad Foote. Chip Kelly had Paul Allen.

It's impossible to make an accurate comparison.

Actually, everyone, aside from a handful of guys on here who have romanticized Davis to the point of mental illness, can confidently state that Chip is better.
