Ayyy. The tax thing is a factor man. Or at least it should be. I can only speak for myself but I never cared about the tax thing until I started making real money. I don’t buy the notion that it doesn’t hurt just because he is pocketing over a million. I’m sure others feel the same.

The player has to go to the schools compliance department and tell them he wants to enter the portal. The compliance dept. then has 2 days to get the player in the portal. UF messed this process up with someone a few months back. The players name was entered immediately and then it was removed, then it was back in 2 days later. I forget who it was.

The player only needs to enter the portal by the 1st. They can still sign with another team after that time. Plus, this deadline is only for being eligible without a waiver. They can still get a waiver after this point if they decide to enter later.
