You only generate revenue off ones they count though. And bars (if streaming legally) pay more for the service usually.

Why? I personally like that ND is not in a conference. Conferences are limiting. ND can play all over the country. If teams could get away with it, I am sure everyone would do so. It helps with recruiting, for sure. Granted, playing in a conference would definitely be an easier path to the playoffs. I actually think today pushed ND way further away from joining a conference than they were before.

The simple version of this because people are making confusing

Because of the success initiative changes Miami as a team making the playoff does not have to give any of the $4 million for each round advancing. Then, if you do to the championship back to the ACC to be split, you keep it all.

Each team in the ACC just for the existence of the playoff is getting money which will be next year around $13 million per team for every single team except for those that agreed to take Lese if they even did as part of coming into the conference like the three new schools, but that might just be media rights

For clarity though next year and going forward the Big Ten and Southeastern conference just for existing each team will get like $21 million compared to the ACC getting like 13

But for this year, if Miami wins every dime they get they get to keep that’s the change for the success initiative
