I just don't understand how other teams can convert 3 & 19's (Duke), 3 & 25 (cuse), 3 & 10 from their own 10 (cuse again), and yet we get 3 & 2 and seem to consistently wet the bed.

Frustrating as all ****

S*** on a stick.

Even Golden could be well ahead at the half - his Defensive Coordinator would turn over the game in the second half.

We need an Offensive Coordinator.

Richt is a good head coach - but it's not clicking.

Cuse gave up 317 last week to the defending champs. 480 to us. Not saying that Richt is the be all end all. But we're moving the ball. More importantly, we're moving it when it counts.

Because Richt does nothing to fool the defense. No motion, same formations, calls inside/outside zones 90% of his runs. It's incredibly unimaginative. I love the guy but bring in Helfrich already.

But can't score TD's

Catch the ball and we would score more TDs.

I hear you, but this is two weeks in a row, we get first and goal at the 3, and the OL can't make the push in back to back downs. This has been an ongoing issue for awhile now

I can't put it on Richt.. the drops were significant. Richards dropped 2 TD's which puts another 8 on the board. We got a little stagnant there in the second half but we got the ball to the right places for the most part, but execution wasn't there.

Again I'll say I cannot understand why we don't give ourselves more options inside the five yard line, our line is decent between the 20's, but cannot get a push inside that.
Rosier has show the ability to roll out and be accurate let him do it in the RZ.

Richt let's the down and distance dictate his calls. Which most of the time it should. But 3rd and 2 should always be in dive formation. What you do with the play call is the question. Straight dive is too much. Love a bootleg. Quick pitch. Tight end dump. Many options. Too many try for that up the middle crap. Fake it.

While Rick has an extremely limited run selection he is doing an ok job calling plays. I would like to see him eliminate the RPO on third and medium/long because Rosier doesn't always make the best decisions. Overall, our biggest problem is execution. We've got to put it together next week. It would be huge for the team to see film of us clicking.

Several of the people on this thread get it. His play calling is repetitious, with little motion, and he has very little creativity. We really haven't played a real good team yet and I know you are undefeated which is great. Talk to me after the VT and Notre Dames games. It's very funny that we lead the nation in the fewest turnovers and are at the top in takeaways. With that said, we continue to wins games right at the end. I hope this all doesn't come to an end soon but brace yourselves for disappointment.

As with theach OP, this not all on the offense. Defense has to get off the field. And yes, Richt has to realize the we aren't going to convert a 2 yard run.

We went to sleep for a little while in the game, but come on we moved the ball on them pretty much all day. God forbid Richards catch a football and we would have put up 50 and 500+ yards on those clowns. There are always a few plays a game that I don't like (3rd and 6 run comes to mind) but if it had worked, everyone would be saying "great job fooling the defense". Nobody is 100% but can't say Richt wet the bed yesterday because that's a pure and total idiotic response

It's worth noting that we haven't played a cream puff defense this year. The worest FBS team was Toledo at 51st in yards/game. And it's better than that if you take out our games, since we're 20th on offense.

The answer to your question is our LBs/CBs/Safeties struggle in some zone coverages and with some fundamental issues (like staying flat-footed as if it were a run on 3rd and long). And, **** happens. It needs to improve.

Imagine if we provided as many reasons/excuses for the defense's hiccups as we do for the offense. Would be amazing if not just plainly consistent.
