#35 spring workout Ray Ray - Is this real?

This is CIS where the incoming freshman is always better than the starter. Especially at receiver.

The same guys who Ray Ray benched for Toney wanted Restrepo and George benched for Ray Ray and Robby Washington.

Why is Coley playing over Berrios? Why is Berrios playing over Pope? Why is Pope playing over Restrepo? Why is Restrepo playing over Smith? It’s like they think that the players come in ready to dominate as freshmen and just get worse until there’s a new freshman that needs to replace them

You are so full of ****. You absolutely demand handouts for any 18 year old that you fell in love with when he was in high school.

And then you have the nerve to slander Xavier as TVD's "butt buddy" (though I'm sure you're an authority on the subject). As if the UM all-time leading WR in receptions and yardage was just the product of being friends with TVD. Meanwhile, Xavier JUST CAUGHT PASSES from any QB who threw them to him from 2020 to 2024, and did NOT follow his "butt buddy" to Wisconsin.

But, yeah, you're still ****ed about Key'Shawn Smith. The guy who "broke out, big time" at SMU. Or maybe Brashard Smith, who had to change positions at SMU.

Refresh my memory again, was this "big time break out season" the one where Key'Shawn Smith had 33 receptions? And did he have 33 receptions at Miami in 2021 or at SMU in 2024? Trick question, right?

Or are you talking about Brashard Smith being moved to RB because he just wasn't a very good WR?

"It's really not a horrible take". Yes, yes it is. You screamed about how Key'Shawn Smith, a guy who NEVER caught more passes in one season than he did as a sophomore at Miami in 2021, or Brashard Smith, who also had a good sophomore year and then declined, should be starting over Miami's ALL-TIME leading WR in receptions and yardage.

Yeah, that is a TERRIBLE take.
First of all nobody cares that you are a UM alum. Most of our fans didn't go to Miami. Do you want a cookie for that?

If we had all of our wr's in the history of Miami play as much as X played he wouldn't have any records. Not disrespecting X but just stating facts.

I find it weird that you remember Keyshawn smith, I have no memory of me talking about him, maybe a little but nothing worth remembering lmao it's a little weird you do. And also any take during that low time of our team that was awful couldn't be that bad for how bad we were.

And yes. X was tvd best friend and supported him, which most of all our players do because you have to esp when the coach continues to start him but we need players that would hold tvd accountable X didn't.

Obv X best season was with cam ward.

Yeah, I'm not a fan, right? I'm not a UM alum (undergrad, MBA, Law) or a season ticket holder or a booster, right?

Besides, you should read what he wrote. YOU are the one who made Ray Ray Joseph a punching bag, not me. I support all of our players, even though I know we need to add more Portal talent to maximize our 2025 season.

Wake up. You are clearly the problem.
So you think you're more of a fan becuase you went to Miami and you're a booster and have season tickets? Lmfao

I have season tickets too so watch out I might be a bigger fan than you!.. ahhh so you'd prob throw a fit to the program if we broke the uniform made up rule you swear by lmfao

Now you’re just reaching. He’s the only receiver in school history with two 1,000 yard seasons. It’s not like he’s been starting for four years. 154 of his 200 catches and 2219 of his 2844 yards came in the last two seasons. Those two seasons alone would make him fifth all time in receptions and 6th in yardage.

i get it , not here to talk poorly on X

I mean, he looked fast in highschool. I'm not sure the work he is doing is helping him tbh

stiff, slow... not impressed what so ever. Do you think he looks like hes about to have a break out year by how he looks right there? Its not like he was excelling as it is and its not looking great atm just my opinion
He looks fast in high school cause everyone was slow. D1 football everyone is equal.

Your ignorance and stupidity are monumental.

Nobody...NOBODY...ever argued that I'm "more of a fan". You were the idiotic dip**** who told me I wasn't a fan, and I rebutted your brain-dead post. It's your own insecurity that misread the situation.

It's not a competition. You will ALWAYS be a moron who is capable of purchasing season tickets. Good for you.

It's like you don't even read the posts, you just go off on tangents with your hysterical feelings.

Grow up and grow a brain.

Exactly.

This dip**** will try to tell us how Xavier's starting position and production were solely due to him being TVD's friend, yet Xavier's two productive seasons involved years where either TVD was injured/ineffective for part of the season (only started 10 of 13 games) or where Cam Ward was the starter.

Ridiculous.

nah lol x is amazing and solid af, clutch, all you can ask for - regardless or who the QB was he will always eat - never said he wouldnt- yeah I said Smith should get some more chances and get him touches which isn't a bad take considering the year he had

also the take I had was 2 years ago before you even knew who X was

how about you explain other teams not putting random numbers on their punt returners--- since I provided you the proof...

People talking about his speed in these drills are crazy. He’s going half speed. He does look stiff tho.
Half speed or not(which I don't think he is by the way)you are how you train. If you're gonna go out of your way to get in extra work than why in the **** would he half *** them? I think he's still dealing with his recovery. That's my only hope. Cause this isn't gonna cut it in any way.

From watching the practice tape, Toney moves different than Ray Ray. And we still need a portal slot receiver over both of them

He's really not though. I love X and have never had a negative thing to say about him. Won't have anything negative to say here either. But if he's on the same squad as some of our other receivers (just like Harley with his one season, difference being Harley legit sucked) he won't even be a top 3 option & if so 3rd at best. That's not a shot against him. It's just reality. #1 we never had as wide open a passing game as we had during x time here(between Tyler's year and change & cams year)& #2 those dudes played on teams with plenty of options all around the field. For the majority of the time here X was basically the best option & in some parts the only option. Never before have we had any of our all time receivers in those kinds of positions. Again that's not a knock on X. But be real, you put him on a team with Santana, Reggie, nitro, KB Andre, Shockey, kdub, Clint, frank, willis etc where does he fit in where he could rack up stats like that? I'm not saying he wouldn't have made plays. Cause the kid is clutch. But he would've been just another option in all other times.

Please stop changing our story as you try to bull**** us into believing you didn't say what you actually said.

For years, and up until about 2 posts ago, you have attacked Xavier Restrepo for starting (and producing) at a level greater than your favorite hype-beasts, KeyShawn Smith and Brashard Smith. I had to include both of them, since you cannot be trusted to be honest about Brashard. You are trying to convince us that he finally had his "breakout season", but it was after he was switched from WR to RB. So you can't even compare him to Xavier any longer.

As for "your take" from 2 years ago, you were accusing Xavier of starting over "more talented" players due to his friendship with TVD. You did it two years ago, and you did it over the last two days, before more people started to call you out for it.

Just stop lying to everyone. Stop acting like "the year he had" (and I'm assuming you mean Brashard) is comparable. It's not. Brashard plays RB now. I'm happy for him, but you can't pretend like "your take" was ultimately vindicated due to a position change.

lol mannn your initial post was a little too strong and I think thats why you get some pushback. No one knows how Rayray will do at RB. Maybe he flops, maybe he doesnt want to try, maybe he becomes a poor man's Duke Johnson. I wont **** on the kid though, he works hard and I remember him being talked about like TOney being on the juggs machine constantly after practice. He creates no issues. If no one else can catch a punt consistently, I am fine with him as PR (that would be more of a coaching failure to have no one else in that room more electric and consistent)

But lets not act like the 2 NFL Prospects you named would have made a huge difference here.

Roberts was a 2020 COVID recruit I believe. mid 3*, no huge offers, signed to play with Manny, Banda, Stroud, Blake Baker types. He was always a slow bake recruit that was not going to make an impact until his second or third year and after his second year he dipped. I dont blame him. He went through a lot of coaching changes, different philosophies and different styles. By all accounts he came from a good family and decided to hit reset. He had 9 sacks 2 years ago against G5 and 7.5 sacks this year. Last year who would he have played over at DE? Maybe we dont go get Baron but he is likely splitting reps with Bain, Messidor, Baron, and Alston.

BSmiff did have 300 more yards than Martinez carrying the ball, but he also had 70 (!) more carries. He did have 120 yards more receiving but had more than double the amount of catches. I dont know if the rumors are true that he refused to switch to full time RB here and had to at SMU once he had no other option so Smith would have done the same amount of work Lyle did. Perhaps he should have been the #2 behind Martinez instead of Fletch but I doubt either make a real difference for us last year.

Roberts is /was a better player than majority of not all the edge guys you named.

I don't want any handouts nor am I saying there will be a handout.

and yea 3 years ago I said for Smith to play of X - which isn't that bad of a take. Yes X is the smarter sure handed, solid, starter you want. love him

but look at Smith this past year - broke out, big time play maker - I mean you throw him in our offense with Cam ward - he would have put up numbers -maybe not at slot like x but its not really a horrible take. take into the consideration that X was also butt buddies with our cancer QB in a culture that needed to be fixed.
Its a horrendous take

Im glad brashard found a good spot but you’re saying a guy who had to switch positions should play over our best wr

Tryna **** on X cause he was homies with tvd is also clown ****, tvd was not the reason we had a bad culture, we had a bad culture a decade before he got here

Downplaying what X did and saying put Brashard with cam is clown ****. None of the wrs on smu are better than X and he couldn’t play wr there
